I walked silently towards the outdoor gym they had, hearing the birds tweet their songs.

"So...Akahiro-kun already moved on," I thought to myself, it made my heart ache. I fumbled with the keys before opening the door to the gym. I set down my bag and went to the changing room to change.
...

I finished changing after five minutes. I set up the volleyball net and got out the volleyballs.

Startled, I looked at the door. Standing there, was my old coach, Sano-sensei.

"What do you think you're doing?" he asked, brows raising, before breaking into a laugh, "Sure go ahead, let's see what you got. As you already know, there's no girls volleyball team here. So if you impress me, I can make arrangements for you to play in the boys team." I smiled and nodded my head. I was excited and quickly finished up preparing. I started showing him my power serves, my sets, and he tossed some volleyballs for me to receive. He spiked some so I can block some too. My favourite part was spiking and so when he set me the ball, I spiked it.

"I've never seen a girl like that play, do you want to be in the team? You have to play against half the team first," he offered, receiving a nod from me.

"You remind me of my old student, Yua Akabane. She's as bright as you, she has the same determination too. You both also look alike, except she died in a crash. A terrible accident," he recalled, "what's your name?"

"Takahashi Seiko."

He eyed me, and finally gave in defeat. Knowing my coach, he was probably going to ask if we were related. I took a sip of my water, and chuckled. He looked at me questionably.

"Wherever she may be, she remembers you and the others, looking after you," I whispered loud enough for Sano-sensei to hear, "Even if she's somehow survived, the impact of the crash was probably big enough to cause her health problems."

It was true. Being 16 right now, I had to worry about dying in 5 years. The impact of the crash was so hard, it took me months to get me stable. And to atleast give me years to live. My last five years, my mom decided to give me the best time here, with my friends and family.

I breathed in and looked back at Sano-sensei crying.

"Ehhh? Sano-sensei. Don't cry, she's looking after you so smile," I stammered, "Smile for m... smile for her." I caught myself and pat his back.

"You sound just like her."
