The Luna101: Book 1

Liquid Moon

We run out of the cave and out into the bright daylight.  I shield my eyes as we run towards The Train. Ivy jumps into the front of The Train, pushing the conductor out of the way and me, Alicia, and Samantha jump onto the seat next to Ivy. Not caring about seat belts Ivy slams the door shut and starts the trains engine.  Ember and Jayden slip through the window.

"Why aren't we just traveling by thought?" I ask.
Ivy had explained to me that when I had magically appeared in the hospital area by just thinking about it that I had traveled by thought.

"The Train contains a bottle of white liquid in the back of the train that we will need in our journeys ahead! Which reminds me that you 3 should be getting that right now!!" says Ivy motioning for us to go. 

With a powerful kick of her leg she punches the side door of the train open. The door creaks on its hinges. The Train is moving to fast that everything outside is a blurr.

"So we just climb out while The Train is moving?" Asks Alicia. 

"Have I taught you anything or what?" Says Ivy.

"Nina! Go first!" Says Ivy pointing at me.

"but-" I start

"You are a descendant from The Crimson Sisters! Use your powers!" Says Ivy.

"Oh ya. I forgot." I grumble.

I try handing Ivy the sparkling blue bag that Reya is in but she refuses. So I take a deep breath and then I step out into the wind. I levitate but I forget a crucial thing. 

"The Train is moving you dummy!!" I say to myself.

By now The Train is just a spot in the distance. I take in another deep breath for energy and then I shoot forward. I reach the back of The Train and grab on to one of the handles.

"AHHHH!!" I see Samantha herdaling towards me. 

"Samantha!" I yell.

Then I reach out and grab her hand at the last second.

"Thank you!" Says Samantha clinging to me.

"Here grab on to this" I say pointing at another handle.

She does. Out of the front compartment of The Train, I see Alicia climbing out. She levitates but grabs on to the side of the front compartment to stop herself from flying off. She slowly climbs over to us were she grabs the last empty handle. 

"What do we do now?" She asks.

"Follow me!" I say over the roaring wind. 

I crawl around the back of the train until I am holding on to a large screw. I yank it out and as I was hoping, the back of the train lifts up to reveal a hidden compartment. By then Alicia and Samantha are by my side.

"How did you know it was there?" Asks Samantha.

I just shrug. I crawl into the compartment. At the back I see a very small box. 

"I can't open it!" I say after trying pull it apart in multiple ways.

"Let me try" Says Samantha.

I hand her the box and after staring at it for a while, Samantha somehow manages to open it.

"look at this!" she says sticking her hand in the box.

She pulls out a small glass vile that is filled with what looks like liquid moon. Suddenly Samantha's grip slips on the bottle. The bottle goes flying out of her hand.

"OH NO!" She yells.

Then she jumps of the back of The Train.

"Samantha! No!" Me and Alicia yell at the same time.

Alicia tries manipulating the wind to pull Samantha back but it doesn't work. 

"Nina! Do something!" She yells at me.

"Um..." I say franticly thinking of something to do.

But before I can do anything Samantha is back at our side holding the small glass vile.

"Well that was a close call!" She says grinning.

"Thanks for my daily heart attack!" Says Ivy zooming towards us.

"And I'll take that!" She says and plucks the vile from Samantha's hand.

"And by the way, were here." Says Ivy.
