The Survivors

We start my plan the next day. I am almost done packing up all my stuff. Finally I finish! I take one last look at my empty bedroom and open the door. I creep down the halway. One of our floorboards creeks. I stay still and wait to see if I hear any movement. None. I take off again and I am relieved to get to the front door! I slowly open it. I take my pair of keys that opens the front door (just in case) and stuff them in my pocket. The cool night air hits my face as I step out into the wind. I walk all the way to Alicia's house. And like she promised the key is under the carpet door. I slowly open the door and walk inside.

"Alicia?" I say in a whisper.

I keep walking down the dark hallway until I am standing in front of a door that has a plack that says,

ALICIA'S ROOM

I knock and am not surprised to hear shuffling footsteps coming closer to the door.

"Get in, quick!" Says Alicia.

I slip inside. I have always loved Alicia's room with it's sky blue walls and pictures of her and her family at every place she has traveled. I look at Alicia. She is a very pretty girl with beautiful shiny black hair that falls gracefully to her elbow. The tips of her hair are bleached which works very well on her. Her eyes are a beautiful blue and her skin is slightly tanned. Samantha has light brown hair that falls a little past her shoulders and brown eyes that seem to melt into your own. She is pretty tall and has always been asked to join the basketball team. Me on the other hand am just ok. I have dirty blond hair that (like Alicia) falls to my elbows. I have boring hazel colored eyes and am the average height of a 12 year old.

"well we all made it!" says Alicia.

"ya" I say

"what's wrong you look worried?"

I think about maybe telling them about the crazy thing I had figured out how to do but change my mind and instead decide to say,

"I am just worried if we are doing the right thing by running away."

"of course we are!" says Alicia.

"I don't want to have to live around video game characters for the rest of my life!" Agrees Samantha.

"Ya you guys are probably true." I say.

"well, I've packed up all of the food that we will probably need for our journey plus some extra." says Alicia.

"Oh good!" I say.

"Well are you ready to get going?" I ask.

"yes" say Alicia and Samantha together.
