Prolouge Part 4

Hawkeye

Clinton Francis Barton A.K.A Hawkeye was born into a failing marriage. His father was an angry and violent man, and his mother was a beautiful, but a timid woman. When Clint was a child, he didn't care if he had a soulmate, no, he cared, if he did something and, if he would get a beating. Clint was the kind of child who didn't care about much; he was a simple child. When Clint was 9 his father killed his mother and then killed himself so Clint was left an orphan. Clint went from foster home to foster home but never really found where he belonged and when Clint was 11 he ran away, for two weeks Clint just wandered around with little food and water until he stumbled upon a traveling carnival.

What Clint finds in the carnival is something that is gonna change his life. Clint meets the people that would become his parents while living with the carnival Clint learned different things so that he could perform in the carnival, Clint learned acrobatics, and the bow and arrow.

In the end, Clint became a master of both arts, as Clint grew older he started his training as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and with his already mastered skills it was no surprise that Clint quickly climbed the ladder among the new recruits, during his training Clint had started to realize that he might be more different than he thought, he realized it was abnormal not to have a soulmark.

This was the first time that Clint had ever cared about such things. Learning the meaning of a soulmark and soulmates Clint couldn't help but be sad that no one was meant just for him but it also made him angry for this meant that even though she was meant for him, his father still abused and killed Clint's mother. Clint graduated top of his class at the academy and worked his way up the ladder from a level 1 to a level 7 in just 2 years.

On one of his missions, Clint made a decision that changed his life. He made the decision to not complete his mission and instead convinced his target to join S.H.I.E.L.D., this target was none other than Natasha Romanova aka the black widow. After she joined shield, clint was partnered with natasha, this partnership turned into friendship. Natasha became clint's best friend, clint would tell Natasha everything and vise versa. She was the one to know all Clint's secrets, she was the one to know his deepest darkest fears and she was the one to know the location of his family farm where his family lived off the radar.

In the time Clint and Natasha worked together and were friends their relationship became more than what it was, they went from friends to lovers and that was what changed their lives for good. The thing that truly changed Clint's life was also one of the most traumatic events of his life. Clint has been brainwashed by Loki when he tried to take over earth and rule the planet and be its supreme king. Clint has become Loki's weapon to accomplish what he wanted, he became his puppet. But when Clint attacked the helicarrier Natasha had been the one to bring him out of his trance.

Clint together with the rest of the avengers defeated Loki so they could go back to normal life. As part of the avengers Clint got to do what he loved, fighting with Natasha beside him. He thought that he was finally home, he thought he had everything he could ever want and for a time he was really happy but then something changed, he saw the team differently. The team had become his family but then Clint began to notice the little things, like how Steve's shirts always fit ridiculously well or how Bruce was incredibly adorable when he was shy or how tony would blink more often when he was confused or how genuinely curious and innocent Thor was about earth things.

And this confused Clint greatly. He never thought he would think about men in this way. He always thought he was completely straight but now he started to find men attractive too; he had noting against non heterosexual people he just never thought he would be one. While Clint was having this existential crisis he hadn't noticed that a mark had started to appear on his thigh. The first insignia to appear was his own. The weird little target thingy magik.

The next was not surprisingly Natasha's hourglass. But the one that surprised Clint the most was Tony's arc reactor. Clint could see why people would find him attractive, he was rich, good looking, smart and well he was Ironman what's not to like. But Clint knew what Tony was really like, he was a smart ass all the time.

Clint could see himself like Steve or Thor but maybe not tony. Clint was a lot more relieved when Steve and Thor's insignias appeared on his body as well. When more insignias appeared Clint was confused to start with but when the new members joined the team that initial confusion cleared up.

However a specific insignia appeared Clint was highly disturbed. This insignia belonged to the man that reduced Clint to nothing more than a puppet. Clint really wanted to avoid loki, but he found himself unable to even look away for longer periods of time. All in all Clint was confused when it came to all this soulmate stuff. But he knew that he would do anything for his team, they were his family, his everything.

Over time Clint became more and more protective of the team especially of the twins and James since he knew what it was like to lose everything you ever held dear. Clint had been confused in this whole soulmate thing, but he was happy it happened for it gave him what he wanted most and he would never let anyone take it from him again no matter what.
