prolouge Part 8

Stephen Strange always hated his last name, he wasn't strange, he just thought differently than other kids his age. Stephen had grown to hate his last name since he learned what strange meant, he developed a burning hatred for the name in middle-school, where he was bullied for being weird. So Stephen focused on his studies and ignored all social interactions and so Stephen went on his journey of information. In the end Stephen became a neurosurgeon, the best neurosurgeon in the country in fact.

Stephen had a funny way of performing surgery, Stephen would have a nurse play a random song and Stephen would name the artist, title and if the song ever hit the charts and if so what year and how long. Stephen Stephen ends up being the highest paid neurosurgeon in the world, gathering quite the fortune and living a lavish life and all that it entails. On the way to a gala, Stephen crashed his car, fracturing most of the bones in his body.

Stephen then spent the next six months in the hospital healing from his injuries, Stephen was told that he might not ever be able to get the same use out of his hands again. Feeling sad and angry Stephen spends about a year and his entire fortune trying to find a way for his hands to stop shaking. Stephen ends up finding a man that was supposed to be lame from the waist down but playing basketball in the park. This man, jonathan pangborn, directs stephen to kamar-taj in india.

Stephen traveled travelled to India for the very last of his money, officially being broke, Stephen had nowhere to stay and nowhere to get home. While searching for the kamar-taj stephen was mugged where almost everything was taken from him, everything except the watch he got from his soul sister christine. Stephen knowing nothing of the combative arts Stephen tries valiantly to defend himself, Moro's seeing the potential in strange brings the man in to the temple in hopes that the ancient one will let him be taken in as an apprentice even after being rejected by the ancient one Stephen still tried until finally he was accepted as an apprentice.

Now as an apprentice Stephen quickly became known for disregarding authority, Stephen has a rocky start to his apprenticeship as Stephen has a hard time ignoring the laws of physics and giving in to the mythical arts, though when he got the hang of it Stephen's knowledge quickly grew with the help from the books. He "borrowed" from the temple's liaberie. Everything seemed as it should be until one of the temples was attacked by a master of the mystic arts named kaecilius in order to obtain a forbidden ritual to summon an unknown power source.

Being worried for her fellow masters and the apprentices the ancient one decided to try and stop kaecilius, however while being away stephe and mordo went to the New York sanctuary just in time to bare attack by kaecilius and his followers. In this attack it had gotten so out of hand that the ancient one had to interfere, but in the fight kaecilius got a good hit in on the ancient one so she fell about 20 stories through a glass sealing and had to be rushed to the hospital. In the hospital the ancient and stephen had a conversation, that seemingly changed stephen, right before the ancient one died.

In the fight against Kaecilius Stephen ended up getting a new friend, the cloak of levitation. In the end Stephen was stabbed by a shard of weaponised mirror dimension so Stephen teleported to the hospital and Christine who he knew would do a good job of stitching him up. Apparently Stephen was followed by one of his attackers and so to protect himself  and Christine, Stephen astral projected in order to fight the attacker off.

Stephen won and was patched up just in time because as soon as he got back to the new york sanctuary woo barged through the portal from the temple telling stephen how kaecilius was summoning more power in the form of dormammu a creature from the dark dimension and in the process destroying hong kong. So Stephen set to work stopping Kaecilius and his followers which resulted in more damage to the city, Stephen had to use the eye of agamotto to rewind the city's time and reverse the damage done both to the people and the buildings.

Now having "saved" the city it was time to save the rest of the world/dimension from dormammu so stephen used the eye of agamotto to basically annoy dormammu into leaving the dimension, and stephen returned to new york sanctuary and sorcerer supreme, which meant that it was now stephens job to protect the multi dimension.

The first time Stephen met the Avengers, let's just say he was not impressed with their efforts to say the least.

However  as time went by and stephen got to know the team, got to know how tony and himself were almost the same person, how bruce was the only one who actually understood what he was talking about, how steve and bucky were old souls trapped in a world they didn't quite understand, how natashe, clint and sam were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and just went with it, how thor and loki knew so much more about the multiverse than you would expect and how the twins were just two teenagers caught in a world no kid should ever be apart of.

So as time passed Stephen could feel a power surge among the group, that was when Stephen noticed the mark on his lower back and well Stephen was happy however he did wonder who had the power to create that kind of bond, and so Stephen swore to find out.
