Thor

As crown prince to the nine realm thor was well aware of the rules of soulmates, and the consequences of trying to force one. He had asked his mother to give him one when he learned what it meant to not have one. Thor's mother, the queen frigga, had thought both Thor and his younger brother Loki, about the magic behind the whole thing. Loki was the only one actually paying attention to the down side of the magic, Thor was only listening to the part about the person that was meant just for him, the one person meant to be his queen.

But on his one hundredth birthday when the mark was meant to appear, he waited and waited but nothing appeared and he was devastated, he had dreamed about spending the rest of his life with that one person. But the person didn't exist, Thor had gone to his brother and cried hoping Loki would understand and comfort him, and he did. Loki was surprisingly very supportive of Thor, Loki even came up with different plans to actually get Thor a soulmate even if he was aware of the rules at this point whereas Thor wasn't.

The next day both Loki and Thor went to their parents and begged their permission to perform the ritual to get Thor a soulmate upon hearing their son's request frigga had almost burst into tears. She knew what it was they were asking about, odin also knew what it was the boys were asking about and was sad his son did not have a soulmate but he also had to be the king and he forbade his son's to even think any further about the ritual, the boys fearing their fathers punishment if they did not obey, dropped the subject and agreed to never speak of it again.

And even though it meant he would never be able to have a soulmate thor never mentioned the ritual again not even when it was discovered that loki did not have a soulmate either, Thor and loki had agreed as children that they would never attempt the ritual, they did however support each other in silence as they grew older and farther apart.

As the brothers grew older it was clear that they did not share the same interests, thor was boisterous and jovial, whereas loki was quiet and secluded. Both boy's was raised in the ways of the court but it was clear that thor didn't have the mind of a politician and yet was not totally hopeless he did have a strong and cappale mind, thor's expertise had always been good for battle tactics where loki was more inclined to the politics and traditions of the court.

Even in their weapons training you could see the difference in the two brothers, but even though the brothers were widely different they still cared deeply for each other. When thor came of age he was supposed to be crowned crown prince of asgard however the coronation was interrupted by frost giants attacking the palace in search of a weapon in the vaults of asgard, thor enraged with the interruption demanded that odin declare war on jotunheim, where the frost giant hail from, but odin refused knowing it would wreak havoc across the nine realms.

Thor being young and immature did not take well to his father's decision, so Thor managed to convince his friends the lady sif and the warriors three to attack jotunheim with him and loki being the good brother he came along. Loki did like to fight but he mostly just came along to cause some mischief, he was the god of mischief after all. This little exertion ended with Odin having to drag Thor and the warriors three back to asgard and finding out new things about himself that was meant to be a secret. Back on asgard thor was stripped of his power and banished to midgard or earth. On earth Thor met the two scientists doctor erik selvig and doctor jane foster.

On Asgard Loki learns of his true heritage and filled with rage he decides to destroy jotunheim, but not before he sends the destroyer after thor. Thor with the help of his friends both new and old defeated the destroyer and regained his powers, and having regained his powers Thor returned to asgard to face his brother. Thor had been hurt not only by Loki's betrayal but how his father apparently lied to both him but also his brother.

Thor had tried to offer loki support but he had been out right refused, he understood that loki was hurt but thor had hoped that loki would see reason and stop his foolishness and go back to being his brother even if he was adopted. The fight ended with Loki falling off the rainbow bridge into the abyss and Thor turned down the throne in favor of protecting the nine realms against those who would do them harm.

Thor returned to earth many times, the first when loki threatened the people with enslavement. While on earth thor met a group of extraordinary people, the avengers. As Thor started to get to know the team he knew he was home, it was where he belonged, and he was not surprised when he started to develop an attraction for the other team members.

Many always seemed to forget that he was also the god of fertility, thor was not ashamed of his sexuale prowes or orientation. So when the soulmarks started to appear the only thing thor felt was joy. He didn't even think it was weird when Loki's insignia appeared on his hip, he already knew he loved Loki now he just knew that they were meant to be family. Thor knew he would do everything for his mates, to make them happy, to make them feel safe and loved.
