A love story between two people desperate to break a spell.
One simply just wants to be handsome, just as he once was.
The other wants to stay alive, just as she deserves to be.
Two fall.
Her first. Him harder.
I went into my borrowed bedroom that night feeling sheepish and exhausted. Being able to watch such a friendly group of people act so... I don't even know how to phrase it. They were like a big family, all brothers. All best friends who'd do anything for each other.
I climbed into bed, my heart aching a bit. I couldn't help but think, what would I be doing now if those nasty Trolls hadn't come and screwed everything up? I closed my eyes trying to imagine what I'd be doing back at home. I could picture it almost perfectly, I'd be spread on the floor in front of the fireplace, drawing or reading. My mother would be placed in an armchair either sewing or reading or signing some kind of paperwork. And to watch from afar, my father, sitting across from our guard playing some kind of card game or chess.
I smile happily at the thought but at the same time, I'm filled with this feeling of burden and loneliness. My eyes begin to burn. I've cried so much already about this already.
The water breaks and tears glide down my cheeks. I reach into my cloak and pull out my family's pendant. I lift it, allowing the moon's light that broke in through the bedroom window to light it's engraved surface.

I've seen it hundreds- no thousands of times before in my life. But now that I look at it... now that I rub my thumb over its carvings, it hurts. Because staring at it feels as if my parents are telling me I've let them down. That I've let my kingdom- my people down.
I turn over in my bed, pressing my face into my pillow to mute the sounds of my sobs.
Meanwhile...
"Gentlemen, to break this curse, we're going to have to work as a tightly knit team. Which means," Arthur began, swinging around a wooden pointer. "You do everything I say!"
There was a short silence. And then...
"Excuse me?"
"Huh?"
"What?"
"No."
"You got to be kidding."
Arthur resumed, aiming his stick of wood at a map on the wall.
"Hans and Jack will search around the Dismal lake. Triplets, you search the caves of despair. Red Shoes and I will go to Golden Goose Avenue." He continued.
"Golden Goose Avenue," Merlin deadpanned. "Which also happens to be your go-to place for dates-"
"-We are going to focus on the mission and then... see... where the evening takes us!" Arthur cooed.
"The only thing you're going to shop for on Golden Goose Avenue is rejection!" Merlin pointed an accusatory finger at him. "And you can't even afford that."
"I like my odds!" Arthur began again. "Let's work together to guide Red Shoes' affection towards me so we can break the curse."
"Well what about the rest of us?" Merlin probed. Arthur smirked, clearly he had thought about this thoroughly.
