I swear, it's like I lose my writing groove. Everything I write just isn't good enough and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT !?!?!?!? Also, excuse the typos ^.^;

It's that chilling sense of fear... even when you're accustomed to it, it still has a way to come back and strike where you're most vulnerable.

I used to be scared of the dark. Not anymore. I suppose when you fear a thing that lights the night sky, let's say a moon, especially when it's full, it's not as dark in the world anymore.

Nobody is ever born scared of the dark. Not when there's nothing to base that fear on. So who taught us to be scared? What is there to be scared of in the dark when the light is so much scarier? When it's bright you see everything. You can see your flesh harden into gold and you know that there's nothing you can do to stop it. But not when it's dark. Not with a crescent moon.

Every artificial light had been out in the room yet... I was terrified. The Hunters Moon was almost at its peak and was grinning its pearly whites through that tiny circle window. That window was the only thing that kept me from feeling better.

Shadows danced across the room. Which one belonged to Merlin was unbeknownst to anyone. I kept my faith, though, because Dartmouth's curse of utter confusion and overwhelming anger was all I needed to keep me going.

I knew this castle with my eyes closed, and I was as good as that. I took this chance to quietly crawl towards my parents while Dartmouth howled orders, his screaming prioritizing getting the lights back on. Nobody could mistake the evident tremble in his voice.

My knees and palms pressed into the stone tile, tiny little rocks pushing themselves against my flesh. I persisted forward until I could feel my hands touch another body.

"Mom?" I whispered urgently. I could smell her scent wafting, even underneath the weeks of filth she was soaked in.

"My baby!" She cried quietly and I felt her immediately pull me into her, arms wrapping around shoulders. Another pair of arms wrapped around us and they were shaking.

"Hi Dad," I said, voice barely audible and cracking.

"I'm glad you're safe, sunshine."

We had pulled away and pressed ourselves against the wall. I felt something come up beside me, and a hand placed itself comfortingly on my back. I knew that touch and I knew that warming feeling in my gut. A soft breath hit my ear as a low mumble came to focus.

"Get as low as possible and as quickly as you can by the time I say your name."

Just as quickly as it came, Merlin removed his hand from my back and his presence was no longer near.

My heart pounded as I grabbed hold onto my parent's arms.

"We need to lay down," I said quickly.

"Why-"

I had already been getting down and was tugging on their hands.

"Y/n!" I heard Merlin yell from across the room.

My pulse quickened and I jumped up, wrapping my arms around mom's and dad's shoulders and forced them onto the ground. Within seconds, the room was lit up once again. Like a large net spread just inches above me, lines of bright bolts ran across the room, electrocuting anyone standing.

My heart hammered against my chest as the room was briefly illuminated. Dartmouth growled with pain and I couldn't stop the smirk from forming on my mouth. Due to his moment of weakness, Merlin began to attack him from all sides.
