take me back,
to birthday parties with jumping castles higher than the tallest trees
to the gentle care of a mother worried about your grazed knees
to the proud look of a father as you rode away on your bike for the very first time
to late night car rides with your cousin, singing at the very top of your lungs
to Sunday picnics at the dam, the air light with laughtertake me back,
to the pride of putting on your uniform for the very first time
to school camps- nights where friends became family
to the daunting feeling of results to arrive
to the irreplaceable support of amazing teachers
to the excitement of seeing your best friend each and every morningNo longer will things be the same, that chapter has ended, the page turned.
Change has come,
and she waits for no one.
The time has come,
to put on a brave face and step into the sun.
