"HAPPY FRIDAY," ROBYN chirps at me, handing me my cup of chamomile tea with a bright smile. "You don't look so good."

I grab the cup and slide my bike out into the street, sipping it quickly as we walked towards the school. "Sorry. I was up late last night," I admit.

She raises an eyebrow and skips forward a bit, her already too short skirt flying up in the wind. At least she was wearing tights today. "Why? You and Hayley finally make it past first base?"

I gawk at her. "Is sex all you think about?"

"Hey, someone has to counteract your prudence," Robyn spits as she takes a sip of her coffee. "You've been dating, what, two months? I think the time is right, Braylen."

"I wasn't with her last night," I say almost defensively. With a sigh I finish the tea and toss it into the trash can, mounting my bike. Robyn follows suit.

"Got it. Hayley's a sensitive topic," she mumbles as we ride side by side along the empty streets. "What about Seb?"

A blush forms its way across my pale cheeks. I turn my head towards someone's lawn, pretending to study the shrubbery. Robyn gasps loudly. "No kidding. You were talking on the phone with him last night, weren't you?"

"Does it really matter?" I ask, turning back to her. "I'm just going to keep getting to know Hayley."

"You can't just ignore how you feel about him, babes. You owe it to Hayley to at least let her know you're not 100% in before things get too serious and you're suddenly her boyfriend," she says.

I blow a raspberry with my lips. "I hate it when you're right."

"Eh, it doesn't matter," Robyn mumbles. "You'll most likely do the exact opposite of what I say anyway."

        I scoff. "That is—that's not...okay, maybe you're right."

"Kinda in the mood to skip today," Robyn admits. "Wanna hit Moku?"

I shake my head at her as we bike alongside each other. "Wish I could but I have a huge Astronomy test to study for. And, oh yeah, I'm not a delinquent."

"Ah, yes. How could I forget the moral compass of Braylen Adams?"

We pull up to the school and place our bikes on the bike rack. "You owe me a skip day," Robyn accuses as she bounces through the doors. I watch as she greets everyone with a huge grin, hugging people I didn't even know she knew.

I couldn't help but be a bit jealous of Robyn. It seemed that everything just came so easily to her. Being friends with everyone, dating, actually telling people how she felt. If she were in my situation I was sure it wouldn't have even been an issue for her. She would've done the right thing without hesitation.
