Present, Jina's Car

Jina steps in the car with intent. This is like a toxic relationship and she's coming to kill this love. Yet, however over dramatic she may be, it needs to be done. For the sake of both their productivity and best interest as well as her sanity. In her mind, she rewinds over her overarching plan and reviews what she needs to do. All of it is simple. A kindergartner could pull off such a thing in their sleep.

Since she lives in the city, she doesn't usually like driving. With all the traffic from public transportation and commuters, walking is much more efficient. Not to mention it's a million times more environmental friendly. Yet, here she is, taking her car to Lee Heeseung's firm. Why? Because she's too embarrassed to walk there and have to see people face to face on the way there. However much she pretends to be oblivious, it's no secret about the women who station themselves outside the building, not so subtly waiting and watching him. Their gossips about how dreamy he is, how they want their daughters to marry such a man, are basically common knowledge. She's a nobody in the eyes of the general public, she doesn't need to be associated at first sight.

Having researched all  the backroads ahead of time, she doesn't have to worry much about traffic. The roads unfold themselves to her and she allows the car to glide along them. If all goes well, then maybe she won't even have to see him in person. All the better. For part of the morning, she pondered whether or not she should call him and remind him she would stop by. Yet, since she did tell him the night before, he probably won't forget. Then again, what does it matter if he remembers or not? All she has to do is slip the envelope in and out of his office, making sure no one intercepts it.

Present, Outside the Office

When she finally arrives in the area of his office, she parks in a parking lot two blocks away. Checking her watch once more, she goes back on her plan and works out her timing. The firm is about forty minutes away (depending on the incoming traffic) from where she works and she had two hours until she had to be there. From where she is, it'll take roughly twenty-five minutes to get into his office. As much as she'd hate to waste a little over and hour on Lee Heeseung, she's saving herself from the hours they'd need to work together if she doesn't proceed.

Walking down the near empty side-walks, she takes a moment to observe the buildings. As expected, all the high rises are shiny and look as elegant as those in times square. Though the sun is just barely in the sky, there are workers on platform lifts shining the windows already. Jina finds herself watching them intently, a small well of pity within her. If anyone would know a thing or two about the way people's futures pan out, she would. Those men and women washing windows for low pay could've easily been in her shoes, with a stable job. She could've easily been one of them, someone who'd ignore their small fear of extreme heights just to get by. Perhaps that way, she'd have more freedom than she does now. Maybe then, she wouldn't feel so stuck. Then again, it's useless to explore such territory. No matter how much she imagines, she's where she is now and no hypothetical question would ever change that. With money, a job, and a decent resume, she has nothing to complain about.

"Miss," someone approaches her and says. The person is a mere girl, wearing a uniform and slinging one backpack strap over her shoulder. Judging by her look, she's seventeen at most. Thinking of someone so young, investing their time into a working man sends mixed emotions through her. Pity and annoyance."Do you happen to know where he works?"

"Who?" Jina asks. Obviously, she knows who but she asks anyway.

"Oh you know," the girl gushes. "Lee Heeseung! Who else?"
