Engaged
THE days went by so fast that a quinquennial of years has suddenly passed.
"Good morning, Mommy! Mommy! Look!"
A loud excited voice woke me up from my deep sleep.
"Yes, baby? Good morning." iminulat ko ang aking mga mata at agad nahanap si Atreus halatang excited. Inaantok na napaupo ako mula sa higaan. I stretched and looked at Atreus.
"Uncle Adam baked me cookies! It's so delicious!" he smiled handsomely, reminding me of the way Atlas smiled.
"Good morning, Thalia. Wakey wakey!" Adam followed Atreus inside my room. Both of them looked at my messy bed hair. Adam raised his left brow and his eyes settled at my breasts. I suddenly felt shy. I faced Atreus.
"I haven't brushed my teeth yet. I'll just..." tumayo ako at agad na pumasok sa bathroom. I took a brisk shower and changed my clothes.
When I got out from the walk-in closet, Adam was at the door frame looking at me while he's standing there.
"Mommy it's so delicious! Take a bite." Yumuko ako at inumang ni Atreus sa bibig ko ang cookie, kinagatan ko rin naman. Masarap nga.
"He's been a very naughty kid this morning."
I looked at Adam, he's looking at Atreus who's busy eating the cookies. Napailing siya.
"Yeah? Why?" agarang tanong ko. I looked at Atreus who's busy and oblivious to what's happening around him.
"I was cooking a European breakfast this morning and he keeps on bugging me to bake him some cookies. He won't leave my side and he accidentally tipped the pan over my hand so..." he trailed off the last part. Then I saw a huge reddish part on Adam's hand.
"Oh my gosh Atreus! What did you do?" nilapitan ko si Adam. Ang kanyang buong kanang kamay ay namumula at may mga blisters pa! Hinawakan ko ang kanyang kamay at sinuri. Buti at first degree burn lang.
Agad na lumapit sa akin si Atreus, nakanguso at mukhang naiiyak pa! Nagpapaawa.
"I'm so sorry mommy." niyakap niya ang aking mga binti habang hawak hawak pa rin sa kaliwang kamay ang isang cookie na may kagat niya. He looked up to me and flashed his puppy eyes. He does this whenever he feels guilty.
I faced Adam who's smiling. Napailing ako. Nai-i-spoiled minsan ang bata dahil sa kanya eh. Hinarap ko ulit si Atreus.
"Did you say sorry to Uncle Adam?"
Tumango siya ng tatlong beses.
"Don't scold him, he's already sorry." nakangiting saad ni Adam. Napangiwi ako. Lumapit sa kanya si Atreus.
"I'm so sorry Uncle Adam." binuhat siya ni Adam kaya naman kaharap ko na silang dalawa ngayon.
"The breakfast is ready. Let's eat?" Adam was smiling at me then he took my hand and we went downstairs.
The maid is done fixing the table for us, though they always eat with us. Ana and Ria sat on the left side of the table, their back is on the glass wall overlooking the city. Even though it's morning, the view of the skyscrapers still amazes me. Me, Atreus, and Adam sat on the right side where we could overlook the city.
"Where's Adie?" I didn't let Adie leave us when Adam came back from his work. She lives here now. She's the one who cooks in the morning and afternoon, Adam cooks in the evening because Adam has work in the morning and afternoon. Today, it's Sunday, Adam doesn't have work.
"She will be here in a minute, she took a shower." Adam
"I'm done!" the smiling Adie approached us and kissed Atreus' left cheek before she sat down in the middle. "Let's eat!"
