SOMEONE ONCE TOLD ME
that time was a thief. And as the days came and slipped right into the past--I learned for a fact that, he was not. Time, was a merchant. I traded my only chance at true happiness for the sake of some unwritten destiny. I could've stayed. I could've grown old with my dearest friend.

But now, I couldn't even recall what his face looked like, nor the warmth and purity of his touch. I couldn't remember the way he made me feel when he almost died that day, and I couldn't remember the way he made me feel when I kissed him.

All these memories, were nothing but ash and dust. It was hopeless to try and force myself to feel something that might not have ever there in the first place. At least, I don't ever remember feeling the way that my friends at my old work, talked about feeling.

Yet I just know, in my heart; it happened.

Over the course of eleven, long waited years, time had begun to dissolve into itself, as shapeless as the rain. And as started to feel myself slipping from his memories; eventually I learned that he'd moved on from that phase in life. So, I forced myself to do the same. But I could never forget, his name.

"KEIGOO NOO!!!"

"Shut the hell up!! God. So much for taking the god-damn subway." I glance to my right to find a man with jet-black hair, giving me a deathly scowl.

I sigh, feeling something tug at my dress. "Mom, are you okay?"

I give a warm smile in reassurance. "Yes Natsu, just go back to playing your game." I lace my fingers through his hair, and he rests his head on my lap; his tail swishing in sync with the rolling wheels.

The subway would've never been my first option, but taking a cab would've been way more expensive. With all the money I invested in this move; all I really had was enough to keep the refrigerator stocked for a week and a half. Times were getting tough, and money wasn't something I could just toy around with like In the beginning. I had a kid now, and I needed to be vigilant with cash.

Both of our ears flicker upon arriving at the station. My boys gaze wavers from his phone, and through the thin sheet of glass seperating us from the world beyond the subway car.

"You ready to see where your mom grew up?" I nudge him playfully. His ears fall back; evidently in annoyance.

"No that's boring!! I wanna meet All might--" I sigh in interjection.
"Natsu...we're not just gonna run into him in the middle of the street. He's out saving the world like all pros do." With that I usher him ahead of me, taking his hand. He gives a long bored sigh.

Pouting he throws his hood over his head, and trudged down the center of the subway glaring into his phone. I tisk.

"Natsu! Put your phone away while you're walking, you'll run into somebody!"
