AS I ENTERED THE OFFICE I
was greeted by both the vice principal and my son's teacher. Natsu appeared to be in a chair; curled up into a ball, and hugging his knees to his chest. The sight was gut-wrenching.The vice principal pulled up a chair in front of his desk, alongside who appeared to be a very angry mother, and her son, who sat in a chair right next to them.
"Miss Aobicodo--"
"Before we get this started, I'd like to know why my child was seated in the corner of this room, curled up in a ball, crying." I kept a stoic smile, that baffled the women to an extent. The mother snaps her gaze onto me."Why? Excuse me, but your 'son' gave my kid a broken nose!!! If you gave him enough attention--"
"Now now, let's take this down a notch alright?" The vice principal butted in.
"Miss Aobicodo, your son has caused a little bit of a problem today. Mrs. Kiara's son claims that your child Natsu, attacked him for apparently trying to joke around with him. This fight-"
"Attacked." I interjected, through clentched teeth. "All this kid has is a broken nose, and you're claiming my kid attacked, him?"
I pull out my checkbook. "How much for the broken nose."
The women glared me down, "There's absolutely no way I'm not reporting this to the police after what your son put my poor itatchi through--" "And we'll surely discuss that when we need to." I stated bluntly.
"It looks like a nasal bone fracture, so I'm assuming it's ranges from two million to about six million yen. So here." I draw up a check, slapping it on the desk with a sigh.
"Now, I would like to ask my son why he did it. Is that fine by you?" I gave the lady a fake smile, along with the principal. The mother of that little shit folds her arms, glaring into the wall, and the principal nods.
I push myself onto my feet before meandering towards Natsu, flashing a warm smile.
"Natsu hun, can you tell me why you broke this kids nose?"
He gazed up at me with broken orbs before burrying his face in his knees, sniffling. "It's alright sweetheart, I'm right here. Just tell me. You aren't in trouble because I know, you would never do something like this unless you were provoked."
He glances up at me shocked, and I hear the other kids mom muttering indistinguishable slurs from behind me.
My son's gaze wavers from me to the other boy, and he appears to be swallowing back a lump in his throat. Itatchi clentched his fists before snarling. "I didn't do anything!! All I did was joke around with him...stupid mutt can't take a freaking joke." I throw the little bastard a wild glare, along with his mother, before gazing back at my son.
"Mom...he...took my necklace." He spoke sorrowfully. "He muzzled me...he had a leash--he tied me to a tree and called me mean names!!"
"He...He called me an animal...a mutt..." He squeaked; tears pooling down his cheeks.
This vile, rage boils deep within my chest as I turn my glossed orbs right back over to the principal. The principal looks at the other kid, agitation written in his features. "Itatchi, is this true?"
The boy glows crimson red, scowling maliciously at Natsu.
"No it's not!! That little mutt is lying!!" His mother is quick to jump in. "If my kid says he's telling the truth than he is.""Mrs. Kiara, will you please calm down?" The principal stated pinching the bridge of his nose.
I shuffle around my purse before angrily slapping a bunch of documents on his desk.
"I want this kids bag searched. My child's necklace is a priceless artifact. I signed special papers just so this school would allow it around his neck." I spat.
Before the other kids mother could but in I snapped my gaze back onto her, flashing a wicked glare; "That necklace is worth far more than any fine you'd like to pin on me. We're talking about sixty billion yen here." Her face tinted dark blue, and she sat right back down before begrudgingly nudging her son. "Itatchi, just show them what's in your bag alright?"
"But Mom!!"
"Itatchi!!!" She growled. With that he sighs scrunching his face up in annoyance. He dumps the contents of his back in the floor. Low and behold my son's necklace comes hurling into the floor along with a muzzle, a leash and a bunch of rocks as well as a bunch of textbooks."I'm not sure any of you know just what kind of lawsuit you have on your hands." I fold my arms glaring at all of them. "Not only is my son related to none other than Ivan Aobicodo, the founder of bright-light inc, but he's also related to a pro hero." I poke my chest with my thumb, scowling at all of them.
The vice principal held a look of mortification. I sigh, tapping my foot. "I'll be willing to drop it, if you expel this kid. Deal?"
"Y-Yes miss Aobicodo..."
"And I want you to refer to me by my maiden name, Sakura." I take my kids hand, slinging my purse over my shoulder. "Good day."On our way through the hall, I held Natsu's hand with as much comfort and reassurance as I possibly could, but still--there was only so much I had the power to do.
"Natsu, why didn't you tell me you were being bullied?"
He hung his head low; his tail dragging against the floor, and his ears pinned back. It hurt me to see him like this. It shook me to my core.
"I was scared that...I'd make you sad Mom."
"Why? Telling me the truth has never made me sad before..." I pointed out. He rubs his nose.
"Yeah it has Mama...remember when I told you about the butterfly?"I let out a shakey breath. "Oh dear...Natsu..." I knelt down in front of him, cupping his baby cheeks in my hands. He held my hands back, tears gliding down his freckled vanilla white cheeks.
"I cry, because I love you. Never because you make me sad. You make me the happiest person in the world, just being my sweet little Natsu."
"You have a middle name. No one else accept you remember? Your middle name is hope, because you were the gleaming light of hope that flipped my entire world of darkness upside down."
"I want you to tell me these things Natsu. Please tell me when you're hurting. You promise?" I paw away the tears from his eyes, he embraces me in a tight hug.
"Yes Mama, I promise." He sighs. I can sense his relief, and he can sense mine. The warmth in my heart spreads around my body, and I just can't help but smile tearfully.
I put him on my shoulders, and he giggles, grabbing my ears.
"How would you like to come with me to work? You'll get to see Deku again. And you might even get to see All-Might."
"R-Really--?!" He squeaks, and I chuckle. "Yes really."
"ALRIGHT!!!!!" He pumps his fist in the air in excitement.
