Divided

It had been about a week since Bella and Edward returned from Brazil and Bella's stomach was now huge! The baby was growing faster than Sarah had, and it was stronger. Bella had large dark bruises on her stomach from where the baby had been kicking from inside the womb. Hannah had called Jake and lied, saying that she had taken Sarah on a trip to visit her cousins in Denali prior to her mother telling her that they wanted to see them more. Jake was a little sceptical and very disappointed but he understood. He made sure to talk to them both at least once a day over the phone but it just wasn't the same. 

Jake returned home after going for a ride on his bike and noticed that Charlie's police car was parked by the house. Jake walked in and was greeted by his father. Sue Clearwater was also there doing something in the kitchen. 

"Hey, son" Billy smiled 

"What's going on?" Jake asked, seeing Charlie in the living room gazing out the window. 

"Bella called him" Billy replied 

Jake moved passed his dad and approached Charlie. 

"Hey. Haven't seen you in a while. How's Hannah and your daughter...Sarah, right?" Charlie greeted him 

"They're fine last I talked to them. So, you finally heard from Bella?" Jake asked 

Charlie nodded "They're extending their trip. Seems she caught a bug. They wanna wait until she feels better before they travel" 

"She's sick" Was the only thing Jake said 

"Yeah, she told me not to worry, but she sounded, I don't know, off" 

" She'll be okay, Charlie" Sue reassured him "Come on, let's eat" 

Charlie and Billy headed for the table as Jake just stood there at a lost for words. This couldn't be happening. Not now.  He went to storm from the house but Billy caught his arm. 

"Jacob, let it go," He told his son

Jake ignored his father, ripping his arm away from him and he stomped out of the house with only one destination in mind.

Hannah was in the living room, sitting on the couch next to a sick, pale and weak-looking Bella, while Sarah sat on Hannah's lap, playing with her hair.
