Hybrid - A Twilight Fanfic [4]

What now?

Jake ran through the forest replaying everything that just happened in his mind. From finding out about the baby to talking with Bella and arguing with Hannah. He jumped out of the trees and onto the road only to nearly be hit by an oncoming car. He managed to dodge it and continue running. He stopped for a moment to let out a howl to alert the others and call them.

Jake then heard the packs voices in his head all yelling out to him as they arrived at the docks.

"Jake!"
"Jake!"
"Jake!"

"Is it true, Jacob?"
"What will it be?"
"Hannah says its a hybrid"
"It's growing fast"
"It's unnatural"
The other wolves began to circle around Jake and Seth joined him in the middle.

"Dangerous"
"Monstrosity"
"An abomination"
"On our land"
"We can't allow it!"

"We have to protect the tribe!" Sam's voice suddenly boomed over the rest. "What they've bred won't be able to control its thirst. Every human will be in danger"

"We're ready" Jared stated

"No time to waste" Leah added

"Now?" Jake questioned

"Wait, isn't little Sarah just like it? But she controls her thirst just fine, even though she's just a kid" Seth included

"Sarah's different. She has wolf blood in her veins. This thing, this abomination, we must destroy it before it's born" Sam growled

"You mean, kill Bella?" Seth whined, not liking the idea.

"Her choice affects us all"

"Bella's human. Our protection applies to her" Jake argued

"She's dying anyway!" Leah snapped causing Jake to growl and lunge at her.

Sam snarled loudly at them to get them to stop. "We have real enemies to fight tonight"

"Tonight?"

Seth whined slightly from behind Jacob. He did not like this.

"If you go anywhere near my daughter or imprint, I swear to God, Sam...!" Jake snarled protectively.

"You know we can't hurt either of them due to the imprint bond. But the others don't share that same privilege. You will fight with us, Jake." Sam demanded using his alpha voice.

Seth began to whine more and bowed down to his alpha but Jake tried to stay strong and fight back. Both began to snarl and growl at each other, Sam slowly towing over Jacob. Forcing him to bow down and submit.

Memories then flashed through Jacob's mind.

Memories of Hannah smiling at him. Saying she loved him.

Sarah saying 'Dada' as her first word. Or yelling in excitement as she ran into his arms.

These memories gave Jacob the strength and will to fight back against his alpha.

Slowly but surely, Jake began to rise up against Sam. Keeping the moments he shared with his loved ones fresh in his mind.

"I... Will... Not!" Jake growled, lifting his head and glaring at Sam " I am the grandson of Ephraim Black! I am the grandson of a chief! I wasn't born to follow you, or anyone else."

Jake gave one last growl and charged past Sam and away into the trees.

He then realised he couldn't hear the pack anymore.

He'd broken away from the pack.

Jake ran all the way back to the Cullen house. He stopped just on top of the hill and stared down at the house in the distance. He saw the door open and Hannah stepped outside. Her arms were crossed and she appeared to be thinking.  She stopped for a moment before she looked up noticed Jake watching her from on top of the hill.  Using her super speed, she ran to the top and approached Jake.
