What's Wrong With Me? - ZADR Fanfic

- Friends or Still Foes -

As Dib was walking towards the school, he started thinking to himself if he should become allies with the little Irken.. Yeah sure, they are already getting along pretty well, but he wanted to make sure it was official- that the alien also saw them as friends. "Okay... I'll talk to Zim about it at lunch..." Dib whispers to himself showing a little smile, one of the students also walking to class saw this and gave dib a confused glare. Dib- embarrassed a little, looked at the student and showed an awkward smile and speed walked away to his class looking down at the ground.

When Dib arrived in class, he saw Zim already at his seat staring at the ceiling.
Dib was nervous to ask Zim to be friends and didn't know why, he thought he hated Zim, but apparently- he didn't as much anymore.

When Dib sat down at his desk, he got out a little notebook to doodle since the teacher was late to class. As Dib was doodling, he couldn't stop thinking about Zim, even if he tried he couldn't stop thinking about himself being allies with the alien that he "hated".
The boy started to have second thoughts about Zim... Maybe he wasn't all that bad. Maybe his paranormal interests got the best of him. Mayb- Dib was stunned in the middle of his thoughts, his face went from relaxed to all red.

He didn't realize he was drawing a picture of him and Zim, and it wasn't the usual picture of "Dib dissecting Zim" or him "Finally defeating Zim standing over his body" it was much much more different. It was a mini picture of them shaking hands.



This was clearly showing that Dib really wanted to be something different with Zim other than an enemy.

"AHH-!" Dib shouted a bit looking at the picture and flipping the page to a blank and clean one, thankfully no one really noticed since almost all the kids in class were yelling and talking. Zim however, noticed Dib and looked over to him to see if he was okay, Dib had his hands on his face thinking on why he wanted to be friends with Zim so bad. He then looks over to Zim who looked a little concerned as well as confused. He shakes his head to reassure that nothing was going on. Zim squints his eyes feeling suspicious before turning his head back at his hands, where he had begun fidgeting.
The teacher finally arrives and apologizes for being late, the class falls silent while students were walking back to their desks. Zim really didn't care about school seeing that it really didn't affect himself, so instead of paying attention sometimes, he would play with his pencil and think about whatever it is he thinks about... Zim and Dib forced their eyes not to look at one another, and it really was a challenge.

- After three classes -

Once third period ended, students started making their way to the cafeteria for lunch. Finally. Dib was very anxious but excited at the same time to talk to Zim. He might even get the chance to sit with him. When Dib was getting his tray of lunch from the cafeteria, he was scooping and grabbing all the food quickly- (knowing how excited he was) -earning him a few judgemental glances from students behind him grabbing their lunches.
When he finally got out of the lunch line, he walks over to where he usually sits with Gaz.

"Hey Gaz, I'm gonna go sit somewhere else...I need to settle something, you can go sit with your friends or whatever." Dib says quickly notifying his sister, not even maintaining good eye contact as looks around for when Zim might be sitting.

"Is it something about your 'boyfriend' again or something..?" Gaz teased.

"What is up with you? And he's not my boyfriend Gaz..! I just want to settle something." Dib said a little annoyed.

"Okay, whatever.." Gaz mumbled while getting up to go to her friends.

Dib watches his sister leave, then he turns and spots Zim at a table alone, glaring at kids that walk past him. He starts walking slowly to where Zim was sitting.
