Dante

After our talk with Callie last night, I'm feeling good about how things are progressing. I walked into our den and saw Dameon working diligently on a contract. He looks up at me as I lean against the door frame. "I'll meet you at her place. I want to make sure this is binding, and uncle can't contest it." I smile at him. Dameon is much more cunning when it comes to the contracts. He can spin a contract whatever way he wants and confuse the shit out of the signer. However, this particular contract is nothing like any we've done before. We aren't exactly asking for her soul but her commitment to us, the soul is just part of the agreement. He will make sure our uncle can't contest it. "I have this brother, remember this is what I do best, well what I do second best." He gives me a devilish grin as he gets back to the contract. "I'll see you soon brother." I turn and transport to her house.

As I walk up the driveway I can hear screaming and things crashing against the walls. I race to the door and bang on it. Screaming her name. The sounds continue. I try the door and its locked. Fuck it. I transport myself inside and hear the noises coming from the kitchen. When I walk in, I see broken dishes and glass all over the floor, holes in the walls from where she's thrown things, and in the middle of it stands Callie. Her face red, tear stained, bloodshot eyes from crying, small cuts on her arms and legs from the glass. What on earth happened?

"Callie." I take a slow step towards her. She is still lost in her rage and anger. "Princess, look at me." She slowly looks in my direction and blinks. I see the pain in her eyes. Whoever did this to her would die. That wasn't a threat, it was a promise. "Princess, what happened?" She drops the pan she has in her hand and she falls to the ground. Like the weight of the world was on her shoulders. Well, technically it is, but now wasn't the time for that discussion. She starts to sob uncontrollably. "I'm broken Dante. No one wants me. They use me to get what they want and then leave me. I'm not worthy of their love." I kneel next to her and cup her face. "Callie, sweetheart, Dameon and I aren't going anywhere. Remember, we want you, all of you." Her eyes look down, unable to meet my eyes. "You will when you get what you want, they all do. What is it you and Dameon want? Do you want another conquest, another notch in your belt? A shiny new toy? Once I give you what you and your brother want you will toss me like the others. I'm just a joke." Her voice is so meek and defeated. She pulls herself up I back up taken back by her comment. She must know we want her. Yes, there is an ulterior reason why we desire her, but how could we not want her. She's perfect in every way. She starts to walk towards me barefoot, walking over the shards of broken glass and doesn't flinch. I look down at the bloody footprints as she strides towards me, her eyes flickering between red and blue. The internal battle of the demon and angel. "Will you toss me like the others? Will you laugh at me behind my back like everyone else has? Or will you be the one who raises me from the ashes?" I reach out and entwine our fingers and raise her hand to my lips and gently run my lips over each of her blood stained knuckles . "Callie, it's not like that. You aren't some one-night stand. Not for us. You may find it hard to believe but you are so much more than a toy, or conquest as you put it."

She stands in front of me. Her hurt now anger, I can see the flecks of red in her emerald green beauties. Her powers starting to become more pronounced. She just turned 21 a few months ago and we knew once that happened her powers would start to show through her emotions. Since she doesn't know how to channel them, she will hurt someone or herself. She was coming into her own with them and she would need us to help her learn how to use them. "Then tell me, Prince Dante. What is it you two want from me?"

I pull her to me. I command her attention like the King I've been born and bred to be. I take her face in my hand, my thumb running over her cheek wiping away her tears. Her eyes still showing flecks of red in those beautiful green orbs of hers. She looks at me almost challenging me. "You really want to know why we want you?" She rests her hands on my chest. "Yes." She says with such authority that makes my damn dick twitch. This is why she was chosen over the others. She's resilient and strong, the perfect makings of a Queen. I run my finger over her cheek and raise her face to look at me. "You are the key to my people's survival. You are what is good in this world. You are like a phoenix. You asked if we will be the ones to help you rise from the ashes? No, and that's because you will always rise from the ashes more powerful and move forward as you have done every other time you've been beaten down. You don't need us to do it, because you my beauty, have a strength that neither my brother or I could every possess." I look at her and smile. Her eyes searching mine, looking for something. What it was she was looking for, was beside me.
