(Y/N) P.O.V
I was on my way home, and my thoughts wandered to my family.
"How are they doing now? Are they okay? Is Father alright? Has his illness gotten worse?"
I shook my head quickly. "No... stop thinking like that, (Y/N). Don't jump to the worst."As I continued walking, something else crossed my mind: my hair had gotten longer. "I'll cut it back to my usual length when I get home," I thought. With that in mind, I quickened my pace.
—Time Skip—
I finally arrived home and saw Mother sweeping the front of the estate.
"Mother! I'm back!" I called out loudly enough for her to hear.
She turned toward me, eyes widening in surprise. Dropping her broom, she ran toward me and pulled me into a warm hug.
"My dear, you're finally home. I've missed you so much," she said, holding me tightly.
"I missed you too, Mother. You, Father, and my siblings—I missed everyone," I replied, hugging her back just as tightly.
"Let's go inside. You must be tired from your journey. I'll make your favorite food," she said, and I couldn't help but get excited.
We walked into the estate together. Mother went to the kitchen to start cooking, and I headed to my room to unpack the things I'd brought from Master Urokodaki's home. After I finished unpacking, Mother came in with a tray of my favorite food. She placed it in front of me and sat beside me.
"Itadakimasu," I said before starting to eat.
As I ate, Mother spoke.
"(Y/N), how was your training with Urokodaki-san?"
I swallowed a bite and replied, "It was fine, Mother. It was hard at first, but I managed."
She gave a soft hum. "How hard was it?"
"Well... Master Urokodaki took me to the top of a mountain filled with traps and told me to make it back to his house before noon. Then he had me swing a sword a thousand times—and when I finished, he'd tell me to do five hundred more. He also brought me to a mountain with a huge boulder and told me to cut it in half. It took me months to finally do it. My hands got badly wounded during that time."
I placed my tray aside and began unwrapping the bandages on my hands, showing her the damage. The wounds were still raw, clearly not properly treated.
Mother's face turned to concern as she gently took my hands and examined them.
"(Y/N)... Did Urokodaki treat your wounds like this?" she asked, worry in her voice.
"No, I treated them myself. I've been practicing first aid, and I didn't want to bother Master Urokodaki—he was busy," I explained.
"That may be, but we need to treat them properly. They could get infected," she said, standing up and leaving the room.
—A Few Minutes Later—
Mother returned with supplies and began treating my wounds carefully. As she cleaned and rebandaged them, I looked at her.
"Mother... Where's Father? I want to see him."
"He's at headquarters with the Pillars," she answered.
"Can I go see him?" I asked hopefully.
"Not right now. He's very busy," she said gently.
I sighed. I really wanted to see him... and the Pillars. After she finished treating me, Mother left the room.
"What should I do now? Just sit here? I really want to see Father... This might sound bad, but—I'm going to sneak out."
