Third Person P.O.V
The sun was just about to rise. (Y/N) lay sleeping peacefully, hugging her stuffed bear tightly in her arms. However, her instincts stirred when she sensed someone nearby. A hand reached toward her—and before it could touch her, she sat up and instantly grabbed it.
Her eyes shot open, locking onto the person at her bedside. It was Tomioka, staring at her with his usual calm, unreadable expression.
(Y/N) immediately let go of his hand and bowed her head apologetically.
"I'm so sorry, Tomioka-san! I thought you were a stranger who snuck into my room.""It's fine," he said simply. "Now I know you have sharp instincts."
(Y/N) blinked, then tilted her head.
"Tomioka-san... what are you doing here so early?""You said you wanted to become a Demon Slayer, right?"
Her eyes lit up slightly.
"Yes! Are you going to train me?""No. But I'm taking you to the one who trained me—my master."
"Alright! When do we leave?"
"Right now. Wash up, get dressed, eat your breakfast, and meet me outside."
With that, he turned and left her room silently.—Time Skip—
After washing, dressing, and eating breakfast(Y/N) stood outside the Ubuyashiki estate with Tomioka. Kagaya and Amane were both there to send her off. Tomioka had informed them earlier that (Y/N) might stay with his master for up to three years.
Amane gently handed her daughter a bag with spare clothes and food for the journey. Kagaya approached with a soft smile, holding out the stuffed bear (Y/N) had accidentally left behind.
"You almost forgot this," he said, placing it in her hands.
(Y/N) gave a small smile and hugged her bear to her chest.
"Thank you... I'll see you both in three years.""Be careful, my dear," Amane said, her eyes full of motherly concern.
"And listen to your instructor well," Kagaya added."I will, Father." She hugged both of them tightly, and they embraced her just as warmly.
Once they parted, Kagaya turned to Tomioka.
"Giyu, I entrust my daughter to you. Please take care of her."Tomioka bowed deeply.
"Yes, Oyakata-sama."(Y/N) gave one final wave.
"Goodbye, Mother! Father! I love you!""We love you too. Be safe," Amane called out as (Y/N) and Tomioka turned and began their long journey ahead.
—Time Skip—
("Sorry, I'm too lazy to describe the whole journey 😅")After many hours of travel without breaks, (Y/N) was exhausted.
"Tomioka-san... are we there yet?" she asked, her voice dragging with fatigue.
"Almost," he replied, still focused straight ahead.
"Ughhh..." she groaned, dragging her feet.
Finally, they arrived at a wooden house nestled near the base of the mountains. They stood in front of the door, and Giyu knocked. A few moments later, it creaked open to reveal an older man wearing a red tengu mask.
(Y/N) instinctively moved closer to Giyu, holding onto the edge of his haori.
"Giyu, you're early. I expected you this afternoon," the masked man said.
"I changed our schedule. I have a mission after this," Giyu explained.
"I see. Is this the child you mentioned in your letter?"
"Yes, Master. She's behind me." Giyu gently nudged (Y/N) forward.
She looked up nervously at the masked figure.
"Don't be afraid, child," the man said gently. "I am Sakonji Urokodaki, the former Water Hashira and Giyu's master. Giyu told me you wish to become a Demon Slayer. Why is that?"
(Y/N) took a breath, her voice soft but filled with resolve.
"Because I want to become stronger. I want to protect people... and I want to find the demon who murdered my parents."Urokodaki was silent for a moment, then nodded.
"I understand. I will gladly take you as my student and train you."
He turned to Giyu. "Thank you for bringing her. You may go now.""Yes, Master." Giyu bowed.
"Farewell, (Y/N). I'll see you in three years. Take care."
And with that, he vanished into the trees.(Y/N) turned back to Urokodaki.
"Um... Mister, when will training begin?""Tomorrow morning. You must rest now—your journey was long, and your training will be even longer."
He led her inside and showed her to a small but tidy room.
(Y/N) set her belongings down and began to unpack. Once she finished, she walked out into the main room, her bear still in her arms. She saw Urokodaki writing something at a low table and curiously approached.
"Mister... what are you writing?"
"A letter to your father. I'm letting him know you arrived safely."
He paused and looked at her. "Now, back to your room. You'll need all your strength for tomorrow.""Okay. Thank you for taking me in as your student, Urokodaki-san."
She bowed and returned to her room.Once his letter was complete, a crow arrived and flew off with it, bound for the Ubuyashiki estate. Afterward, Urokodaki left the house to begin preparing traps in the mountains for (Y/N)'s training.
—Time Skip: Sunset—
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Urokodaki returned from setting the traps. He entered the house and began preparing dinner. When the meal was done, they sat together and ate in comfortable silence.
Once they finished, Urokodaki looked at her seriously.
"(Y/N), your training will start early tomorrow morning. I suggest you get a good night's rest.""Yes, Urokodaki-san. I'll train hard tomorrow. Goodnight, Master."
"Goodnight," he replied.
They each retired to their rooms for the night. The next chapter of (Y/N)'s life—as a future Demon Slayer—was about to begin.
