Author's Note: Hello, author-san here! Before you dive in—this chapter covers (Y/N)'s training, which mirrors Tanjiro's in many ways, but her breathing style will be revealed in later chapters (hint: it's not Water). (Y/N)-chan will train at Mt. Sagiri, and yes, Sabito and Makomo will appear later on, because why not? 😅 P.S. I'm not the best at writing training scenes, but I hope you enjoy!

Third Person P.O.V

The sun had yet to rise. In her room, (Y/N) slept peacefully, hugging her stuffed bear tightly. But that peace was short-lived.

"(Y/N), wake up. Your training begins today. But first, have some breakfast so you'll have energy." Urokodaki's calm voice stirred her from slumber. He then quietly left the room to prepare the meal.

"Yes, Master..." (Y/N) replied groggily, sitting up on her futon. She dressed in a short pink kimono patterned with delicate roses.

This is her kimono.

Once ready, she stepped out of her room and saw Urokodaki setting the table for breakfast.

"Ah, perfect timing. Come eat. Your training begins right after," he said, placing the last dish down.

(Y/N) sat across from him. "Itadakimasu."

They both ate in silence, the tension of what was to come hanging in the air.

Time Skip

After breakfast, Urokodaki cleared the table and approached the door.

"(Y/N), come. Your training begins now."

She quickly stood, slipped on her sandals, and followed him silently. They climbed the misty trails of Mt. Sagiri, (Y/N)'s curiosity growing with each step.

"Master, why are we heading up the mountain?"

"This is where your training starts. We're nearly there."

At last, they reached the peak. Urokodaki stopped.

"Your task is to descend the mountain and return to my home before noon. That's all." He turned, and before she could ask more, he vanished into the mist.

(Y/N) blinked. "Wait... that's it? I just go down the mountain?" Seems easy enough... Oh well. Guess I better get going if I want to make it before noon.

She started running, but not long after, she tripped—a rope had caught her foot.

What was that?

Suddenly—THWACK!—a rock slammed into her cheek.

"W-What the—rocks?" Blood trickled down her face. She stepped forward, only to fall into a pit.

"A pitfall trap?!" she gasped. So that's it... Master filled the mountain with traps to test me. In that case, I'll just have to get through them all.

Climbing out, she barely avoided another trap—a swinging log came rushing past her face. Her breathing grew heavy.

This is insane. I've only triggered three traps and I'm already exhausted. The air's so thin here... I have to focus. I need to listen for the traps. Focus...

Determined, (Y/N) pushed forward, dodging, leaping, crawling her way through countless traps. Her kimono tore, her skin scraped and bruised, but she pressed on.

Time Skip – Almost Noon

Urokodaki sat by his window, sipping tea, eyes on the trail. He remained still as the front door creaked open.

There stood (Y/N)—barely. Her kimono was tattered and stained with dirt, leaves, and blood. Her forehead and lip were bleeding, and she was out of breath.

"I-I... fina-lly... arriv-ed..." she mumbled before collapsing at the door.

Without a word, Urokodaki set his cup down and carried her to her room. He treated her wounds carefully and respectfully—(no, he didn't change her clothes, alright? 😑)

She would need the rest. Her training would continue only once her strength returned.
