Dean POV

I walk out of the stairwell with Megan close beside me. I notice that she keeps glancing up at me as if she doesn't know if I'm about to kiss her or kill her.

I look down at her, and notice my mark on her neck is almost gone. I need to renew that soon, otherwise someone else may try and mark her....

     Speaking of the devil.

I notice Branden through one of the windows near us, the one that looks into the office. He looks to be waiting to get called up.

"Because of what happened in the stairwell." I realize, feeling a jolt of fear running through my body.

No. I am not afraid of Branden, or what he might do. In fact, he won't be doing anything, because I am going to kill him.

"Go back to class, I'll meet up with you at lunch." I say to Megan.

She nods, then starts to walk away. I grab onto her arm before she can walk too far away. Megan looks back at me with her eyes full of satisfying fear.

"Megan, I love you." I say gently, letting genuine warmth enter my eyes.

"I love you too." Megan says quietly, giving me a small smile.

I smirk at her, then pull her into my chest and kiss her. She kisses me back a moment later, and I have to restrain myself from moving over to her neck. Once I start making out with her, especially in this kind of mood, there's no going back.

I reluctantly release her, and let her go back to class. I then turn my full blazing attention on Branden.

Our eyes lock through the glass, and I can tell from all the way over here that he's terrified.

This little prick knows too much, and has seen too much, and has too much of a connection with Megan. On top of that, he's about to turn me in! Yeah, he's definitely going to die. Very, very soon.

I stride over to the office door, but before I can get even remotely close to it, Branden decides it's a smart idea to leave the safety of the office, and starts speed walking down the hall, away from me.

"Fucking idiot. Works for me though." I think smugly, as I start to trail the ginger haired kid.

Branden leads me outside, and surprisingly, into the forest.

"He thinks that he can lose me in the trees." I realize, finding this immensely funny.

I was able to track down Megan while she had a ten second head start, and was running at almost full speed. What makes this twit think that he can outrun me?

The moment Branden gets into tree cover, he picks his pace up to a jog, until I can't see him anymore.

I roll my eyes, then run after him.

I am quickly able to get Branden in sight again, and start to speed up. Apparently, he sees me approaching, so he swerves away from me. He runs behind a tree, but doesn't come out the other side.

"How much of an idiot does this kid think I am?" I wonder, pacing towards the tree Branden is hiding behind.

I pull out my knife, and just as I'm about to round the trunk, I abruptly stab my knife into where I think Branden is hiding.

Surprisingly, my knife comes in contact with bark, and not flesh.

It takes me a second to figure out where he went, but I soon realize what he did.

I shake my head, chuckling softly, then look up into the branches to see Branden looking down at me from his spot on one of the lower branches. He's looking at me with wide, terrified and surprised eyes.

"Nice hiding spot Branden. You tricked me there for a second, I'll give you that, but I'm not as much of a dumbass as you think I am." I say, humour lacing my voice.

"Why the fuck do you have a knife?!" Branden asks in alarm, staring at it in horror.

"Why do you think?" I ask back, grabbing the handle of my knife and yanking it out of the tree.

Sap glistens on the blade, slowly dripping off into the forest floor below.

"Wait. Are you...." Branden trails off, staring at me in bewilderment.

"A murderer? Yes, I am. And you just so happen to be my next target." I say, smirking up at him.

"Why?! I didn't do anything!" Branden shouts, nearly losing his balance on the tree branch.

"You got too close to my girlfriend. She belongs to me, and you can never have her. No one will ever have her, except me." I growl darkly.

"You don't own her though Dean! She's not your property!" Branden snaps, glaring at me.

"Maybe not, but she's still mine. I love her, and she loves me." I protest.

"How do you know? You're so blinded by your obsession with her, that you don't even know how she feels! She will never love you, not truly." Branden hisses, looking more angry by the second.

"That's enough! Get the fuck down here right now!" I yell up to him.

I have many skills and strengths, but tree climbing is not one of them.

"No. If you want to kill me, you'll have to come up here. Although, something tells me that you're not exactly a fan of climbing trees." Branden says, looking more so smug now than angry.

That stupid expression on his face soon disappears, and is replaced by pain, as I throw my knife at him. The blade imbeds itself in Branden's thigh, and he loses balance, falling to the ground.

"So much for staying in the tree." I say triumphantly, walking over to Branden and smirking down at him.

I crouch down and abruptly yank that knife out of his leg, causing him to scream in pain.

"So then, should I kill you right now, or should I cut you open and let you slowly bleed out?" I ask Branden, turning my knife in my hand.

"Go to hell." Branden hisses, gritting his teeth in pain.

"Cut you open it is then." I decide, grinning at his pained expression.

"Megan could never love someone like you." Branden says unexpectedly, in a stronger and more confident voice. His eyes blaze with anger, and his fists are clenched tightly.

I feel my own anger rising, and I'm the one with the knife.

I violently stab the blade straight in the middle of Branden's neck. It goes so deep that I'm pretty sure it went all the way through, hitting the dirt below.

Blood starts bubbling everywhere as I rip the knife out of his neck. The blazing anger in Branden's eyes slowly fades away, as he chokes and thrashes, then finally goes still.

Right, well, back to the cornfield then.
