Megan POV

After two weeks straight of hanging out with Dean, working at my job and doing basically nothing at my house, something new and interesting comes my way.

It's a Monday morning (or maybe it's Tuesday....I don't really know anymore to be honest), I sleepily walk downstairs to get breakfast.

I notice my mom is already in the kitchen, and she turns around and smiles at me as she hears me coming.

"So, I was thinking that today we should go on a little road trip. There's this very pretty park a few hours away, and I'm pretty sure there is some sort of carnival there." She tells me, looking excited.

"Alright, that will be fun!" I agree, glad to have something different to do today.

I love being around Dean, but there's only so much to do in a small, boring town like this one.

"Also, I know that you probably don't want to go to the carnival with your boring old mom, so you can bring a friend if you want." My mom adds.

     I feel my stomach drop.

All my friends have miraculously disappeared (except for Ash, who is always busy), and the only other person I'm with is my boyfriend. And I haven't really mentioned him to my mom yet....

"Um, would it be okay if I, uh, brought my boyfriend?" I ask hesitantly, studying my mom's face intently.

She looks at me as if my hair just caught fire, and I haven't noticed yet.

"Since when did you have a boyfriend?" She demands, looking a little angry now.

Okay, so I can tell the truth and say that we've been dating for about half a year by now. Or, I can lie and say we started talking a few months ago, and we started dating just before school ended.

So, I make the logical choice, and choose option two.

"I started talking to him a few months ago, and we started dating about a week before school ended." I say, trying to sound casual and not like I'm making up a massive lie.

"Okay....well I kind of wish you told me about him sooner." My mom says slowly, looking at me uncertainly.

"He's a really great guy, mom. Super polite and funny and kind. I'm sure you'll like him." I say, a little desperately.

I do really want my mom to like Dean, and I feel bad that I've kept him a secret for so long.

"And what is this boy's name?" My mom asks, crossing her arms.

     "Dean." I answer simply.

My mom looks at me in a thoughtful way for a moment, then says. "Sure, he can come. I want to meet him anyway."

     Uh oh.

I'm not entirely sure how this is going to go down.

I'm sure Dean is great with meeting parents, but what if my mom doesn't like him anyway? Or what if he says something wrong? Or if I say something wrong? Or if my mom says something to make Dean mad?

There are SO many things that can go wrong with this. Then again, it can go perfectly fine too. I do have to tell Dean about my cover story though. My mom can't know that we've been dating a lot longer than a few weeks. She also CAN NOT know that I'm not a virgin anymore, and that Dean and I have had sex. TWICE. HERE. AT THIS HOUSE. IN MY ROOM. COMPLETELY ALONE.

     Yeah, no. Not happening.

After discussing times and meeting spots, my mom finally lets me invite Dean.

     Me: Hey, you busy?

     Four minutes later

Dean: Of course not, I never am! You wanna hang out?

Me: Actually, I want to invite you to go on a road trip with my mom and I?

     Six minutes later

Dean: Yeah sure, meet at your driveway?

Me: I have to get ready first. Meet in two hours?

     Dean: Sure

I put my phone away, feeling a little nervous.

I really hope everything goes okay, and that my mom and Dean like each other.

Two hours later, I'm ready to go, and walk out of my house to meet my boyfriend.

Dean is standing at the curb of my driveway, grinning at me as I approach.

"Okay, so I know this is totally out of the blue, but my mom kind of just surprised me with this. She said that I can bring a friend, so that's why you're here. She knows that we're dating, but as far as she's concerned, we only started dating a few weeks ago. I'm sorry, I should've told her about you earlier, but I never really got the chance. Or it never really felt like the right time." I look down, feeling immensely guilty.

"It's okay, Megan." Dean says softly, lightly grabbing my chin and tilting my head up, so I'm forced to look into his beautiful blue eyes. "I don't want you to meet my parents. They're very....angry, so I understand why you didn't want to tell your mom right away. And sure, I'll keep your cover story in mind."

"Thanks, Dean." I say, wrapping my arms around him.

He hugs me back, and kisses the top of my head.

When we let go of each other, I lead Dean to the front door of my house.

"I really hope this goes well." I think anxiously. "Otherwise, I might never get to see my boyfriend ever again."
