The Bel Air revved like a beast. As I pulled out of our narrow driveway I got a good look at our preternatural neighbors house. It was old, a faded black color and vines growing on the shutters. The house did not radiate the same feeling ours did, it was like heaven vs hell. As I drove past the shabby house I noticed the most peculiar thing in their yard, a cemetery.

"Your own pet cemetery? Kinda weird" I said to myself as I drove down the rest of the rural road.

The houses were very far apart from each other. We were neighbors but you could fit twelve houses in between our house and theirs, yard space was a big plus in the neighborhood.

As I turned off of "Serine Ave" I was greeted by the beautiful town of Greendale.

As I drove down the main strip of the town I laid eyes on the most beautiful man I had ever seen. Tall, the smile carved from the gods themselves, a unique style sense. He was perfect. As we locked eyes I just as quickly looked back at the road. He was gone.

"I always miss my chance" I sighed.

"I am here" I exhaled, nervousness hitting the pit of my stomach.

I looked up at the neon sign that read out "Cerberus Books" I felt at home.

As I walked in the dim lit store a smell of pumpkin and cinnamon hit my nose.

"Welcome in human!" The man at the counter said in a corny demonic voice. The man at the counter was a middle aged Egyptian man wearing a vintage vampire costume.

I approached him with a big smile as I spoke "Hello I'm Lydia, I just moved here and as we drove passed this place my heart just about bursted into bits. It would be a dream to work here".

"Well I appreciate that little lady. The stores been quite slow today so how about a quick interview if you're okay with that" he smiled awkwardly with his fake vampire dentures.

The interview went swimmingly. He was very pleasant and reminded me of  Michael Grover, my dad away from home.

"I like you! You're a great young lady, I just have to speak to my girlfriend Hilda, she's the only other worker here. How about you come in tomorrow in the afternoon?" He has shook my hand as I got up from the plush bean bag chairs he made us sit in for the process.

"Thank you sir" I smiled as I headed towards the exit.

Hildaaa, HiLdA? The wacky neighbor? I'm going to have to work with her???

The thoughts filled my head as I opened the door.

As I go to step out of the building my vision is blurred by the brightness of the outside world.

I try to focus on the path to my car on the street when suddenly I'm stunned by walking into something tall, I fall over.

"Are you okay??" The object spoke.
