"Really?" My moms jaw dropped as I spoke of my dinner plans.
"I literally had no excuse"
"Well go! Have fun! Me and your father will go out tonight, he really needs that anyways" she was thrilled that I was making friends.

I decided to fancy up a bit, it was my first invitation in Greendale. I picked out a simple black strapless top, a maroon sweater-like cardigan and black jeans. My golden brown locks were curled in delicate spirals and I paired my headband with my cardigan.

As I drove onto the Spellman property, dusk was arriving. The presence on their porch felt chilly, it was fitting for Zelda to live in such a place but Sabrina and Hilda hit like a mismatched puzzle piece. I started humming the infamous Addams family theme song.

"Hello dear, come in! The pizzas almost here!" Hilda was the first sign of life.

******

Auntie Hilda spoke delicately to the girl at the door.

"Did you two force this girl here" I sighed, sitting up from the couch, awaiting this poor girl.
"Shut up Ambrose" she threw the daily paper at me.

Then the familiar face walked through the hall into the living room. She was the girl.

Girls do not usually peak my interest, but there was something different about this one. She was the girl that drove past me yesterday on the main strip. She was porcelain, her features offset the dim decor of the manor. She was staring down at me while I sat in awe on the arm of the sofa, she recognized me.

"Aw yes, this is THE' Ambrose Spellman. The last remaining unfamiliar Spellman" Hilda pointed in my direction.

She just stared. I just stared. The exchange went on for so long that Zelda had started clearing her throat out of boredom.

"Hello Lydia" Zelda smiled as she strutted in between me and Lydia.

"Hello Ms. Spellman"
"Oh please, call me Zelda. Ms. Spellman makes me feel...ancient" Zelda let out a cold laugh.
"Sabrina, how about you give Lydia the grand tour"
"Alrighty" Sabrina hopped off the couch and guided Lydias arm away from the room.

She was out of sight, up the stairs.

"Well that felt, awkward" Hilda finally spoke as she heard the girls reach the second level of the house.
"Indeed. What was that all about Ambrose?" Auntie Zelda folded her arms as she turned towards me.

I shrugged and slumped back onto the couch. Pretending to seem disinterested.

"Oh do not give me that" Zelda joined me on the couch. "Spill"

"Nothing to spill, she looks familiar, that's all" I shrugged again.
"I think she thought the same" said Hilda as she joined us on the opposite couch. She raised a brow at me.

Both of my aunts had shared a great look of concern as they stared back at me.

"I have lived on this earth a very long time aunties, I've probably seen 20 women who have shared similar features" lie.

"I think that look was awe. There cannot be any look of awe, not in this world at least" Zelda said sternly.
"Unfortunately, Zeldas right dear" Hilda gave me an apologetic look.
"Droppp it auntiessss" I started to read the daily paper, bored of their level of concern.

The room was silent until the two girls joined us once again.

"That's it"
"It's beautiful, really. I love the architecture." She smiled at Sabrina, this time concentrating on not looking in my direction. How obvious.
"Did you show her downstairs" I spoke.
"No" Sabrina snapped quickly. Lydia seemed surprise my the aggressiveness in her tone.
"Why not, that's the best part" I smirked.
"What's downstairs?" Lydia questioned.
"Nothing really love" Hilda tried to wave me away.
"Oooohhh so you didn't tell her?" I faked being shocked, showing my sarcasm.

Lydia stood waiting for answers.

"Oh hell. Ambrose is a mortician. He works downstairs. Hilda and I arrange funerals" Zelda rolled her eyes, bored with the back and forth.
Lydia blinked twice before turning towards me. It threw me off.

"Interesting" she itched her head.

With great timing, the pizza man had arrived at the door. Sabrina invited Lydia into the kitchen to set up the table.
