Chapter 15 – The Archangel Raziel

Raziel’s POV

“Yes, I am.” I told Niall with a nod of my head, confirming that Lucifer was speaking the truth. He looked a bit offended at me and I understood why. I have never told him that I am an Archangel, and he must feel offended because of that. We are friends after all.

My head turned back towards the Dark Angels who were all giving me heated glares. I locked eyes with Lucifer’s coal-black ones and calmly said, “I’m sorry, but you won’t get my friend. I’m not crazy, you know?”

“Of course you aren’t, Raziel the all knower,” he said mockingly, I slightly narrowed my eyes and tightened my hold on the seraph blade I was holding, getting ready to slide his head off if he went too far.

He smirked and took a step forward; Liam gave him a warningly growl from next to me, daring him to take another step. Lucifer raised his eyebrows at the werewolf, “I’m actually surprised that there still is one of you alive, I thought you were all extinct. Seems like we didn’t try hard enough to whip the wolves off the face of Earth.” He said with a wicked laugh.

There is only one thing scarier than a lunatic. And that’s a laughing lunatic. Lucifer just proved that statement right.

I placed a hand on Liam’s tense shoulder, “Don’t,” I warned him.

I moved till I was standing in front of Liam and Niall; standing face-to-face to Lucifer himself, the other Dark Angels standing behind him. “Stop playing your games Lucifer, you will gain nothing with it.” I told him in a low voice, making sure that Niall couldn’t hear me. Liam probably could, thanks to his wolf hearing. “Just give us back our friends, they are the reason we came down here. After that we will leave, and I can promise I will never return.” I said.

There is a small change that Lucifer will give in. He was the most handsome angel from Heaven, but he was extremely stubborn and kinda selfish. But who knows? Maybe he will actually give in for once.

“The last time you came down here; we made pretty clear we never wanted to see your face again, the same counts for Michael who was with you,” he said in a dangerously low voice, his eyes darkening even more in anger. “Yet here you are. The great Archangel Raziel returned to the Underworld. How can I know that you will keep your word this time? I don’t trust a word you say.” He partially growled under his breath. I arched one of my eyebrows, “And why did I return?” I said while tapping my chin, Lucifer scowled at me. “Oh! I remember! You kidnapped my friends, that’s why! Just give them back, Lucifer.” I scoffed.

Avok stepped forward, “And why do you think we took them? The Great Master needs them, you can’t play the hero this time, Raziel. I don’t see the other Archangels nearby.” He smirked, his ice blue eyes glaring at me.

Lariel and Gideon watched our exchange from behind Lucifer and Avok, their dark eyes watching me nervously. From the four Dark Angels they were always the most careful and observant, making it hard to defeat them in combat. Gideon actually was a friend of mine, but that changed when he fell from Heaven.

“You are too late,” Lariel suddenly announced loudly. I looked straight in his dark brown eyes. he had a triumphant look in his eyes and a smirk slowly grew on his face. And then I realized.

“Fuck you! You filthy bastards! No wonder you fell!” I loudly yelled at them, not caring the slightest I cussed. It’s not a crime or so.

Niall’s POV

I lightly jumped when I heard Jack – no, Raziel – cuss. After Lariel said he was too late, he suddenly became all worked up. I have no idea where the fuss is all about, but who knows? Raziel is the angel of mysteries after all…

I saw his wings and back muscles tense up before he spread his large wings wide out. A light blue light surrounded him and his wings started to sparkle. I looked on wide-eyed to see them transform. His wings went from a pure white to a deep blue colour. Arranging from nearly black to the iciest blue, depending on how the light shone on his feathers. They say that the Archangel’s wings are like crystal, I always thought that was ridiculous, but now I understood what they meant with it. They really did look like crystal.

Watching the smirks on the Dark Angel’s faces, I knew that this was the kind of reaction they tried to get from Raziel. My eyes widened when I realized their intentions myself.

The Dark Angels are widely known in Heaven. They don’t like the angels of the light and if their cross paths with one they will kill them. And now they calmly stood in front of us, basically laughing at us. At first I thought they didn’t kill us immediately because of Raziel being here, with him being an Archangel and so. Archangels are powerful. But now I realize that isn’t the case.

This is a trap.

“This is a trap,” I whispered and both Raziel and Lucifer turned around to look at me. Lucifer’s expression was emotionless, as hard as stone. Raziel looked surprised for a second that I figured it out myself. I looked at Lucifer, “Hades had sent the four of you to keep us busy, or he sends you to capture us. It must be one of those,” I said to him, giving him a glare of my own. Liam has been silent the whole time, his brown-golden eyes moving from angel to angel and his ears twitching on top of his head.

Lucifer chuckled and a shiver went through my spine and wings. Everything about him was emotionless, did he even had a soul? “Smart boy,” He mocked like I was a dog. “You can’t capture an angel, that’s the highest crime possible.” Raziel retorted, actually seeming offended about the idea.

Gideon laughed, “We are already banished from Heaven, how much worse can it get that this? Honestly, we don’t care about crimes and such.” He told us, crossing his arms in front of his chest, ruffling his raven-like wings.

“And you can capture an angel. Even an Archangel and a werewolf.” He added and before I could do anything; something fell down on me, Liam and Raziel. Some kind of rope wound itself around me, trapping my golden-white wings against my body and preventing me from moving. I could hear Liam howling and snarling and Raziel started to yell things to the Dark Angels. I couldn’t see a thing anymore, for something covered my eyes.

I could hear Lucifer laugh in the distance and he said, “Bring our greetings to Hades! You are about to meet the God of the Underworld! Nothing will save you anymore, you are doomed!”

Seriously, where the hell did I got myself into?
