tap, tap, tap

The sound of your pencil on the wood desk was almost rhythmic, and it was helping you focus on the paper in front of you. Math had just started, and you were doing a simple worksheet. You hated the numbers and how they always repeated themselves. You hated sitting here for an hour, just hoping your brain wouldn't fail you. Sure, the problems were simple, but the long numbers made the questions seem dragged out.

You dusted the bits of graphite off your paper, focusing back in. Throughout the class, you had finished four out of the ten questions, and there were 15 minutes left. You weren't exactly worried about not finishing the questions, you knew you could do that easily if you really wanted to. What you were worried about was Monoma. He hadn't been in school for a good few days and you were wondering where he was.

He wasn't answering your texts, and you had a feeling it might be related to your run in that weekend. The blond hadn't updated you on his nose, which made you a bit angry. He promised he would. Why would he just not answer such a simple question? Maybe you were overreacting, but the worry was starting to make you stress.

As you scribbled in the last answer, a drop of water fell on your paper. You made a quiet confused sound, realizing it was a tear, multiple others soon following it. The paper was getting damp, so you raised your hand.

Your teacher, Ectoplasm, looked confused when he saw your face. Tears were streaming down your face and your eyes were puffy. "Are you alright L/n-san?"

You nodded, using your sleeve to wipe your face. "Yeah, I just... may I go to the restroom please?" You smiled awkwardly, unsure as to why you couldn't control yourself. The whole class was staring at you, and you just wanted to get out as soon as possible. The weight of their whispers and seemingly judgemental looks were starting to make you overthink things.

Ectoplasm looked to the clock, then back at you. "Alright... but the next class will have already started by the time you get back." He said with confusion in his tone.

"Thank you!" You said a bit too loud. You felt eyes burning into your back as you left the classroom, and it just made the tears come down faster. After you shut the door behind you quietly, you hurried down the hallway, drops of salty water still bubbling off your cheeks, and onto the blazer of your uniform.

There were a few other girls in the hallway, but you didn't recognize them. "They must be from a different class," you thought to yourself. With every tap of the heal of your loafers against the cold floor, your cries worsened. You were hoping you could make it to the bathroom before you let out a sob.

After what felt like hours, you reached the small girl's bathroom. With a sigh of relief, you leaned against the wall, continuing to cry. You didn't know why you suddenly had to disrupt the class. It made no sense, you thought you had left crying out of nowhere back to last year. So why, why, was it all suddenly coming back?

As you sobbed into your hands on the bathroom floor, the door swung open, causing you to slowly look to who had entered. Standing in the doorway was a girl, a little on the shorter side and the same one from the hallway from the looks of it.

Standing with a frown on her face was an affectionate looking girl with soft pink skin. Her hair was a lovely shade of pastel pink accompanied by cute horns that stuck out of the fluff of her short locks. To make her look even more out of the ordinary, the whites of her eyes were not white, but a deep shade of black.
