"How..."
"How has my life come to this?"
Neito often asked himself this question, but despite the constant searching, he has never found an answer. How, but more importantly why it had been him that ended up here. Why was it he, an innocent kid, who had ended up in this shit hole instead of some guy who had done horrible things? Guess it just comes to show how unfair the world is.
He looked at Ichiki, quickly averting his gaze when she noticed him staring. He thought back to how he had ended up walking with one of the people he hated most.
"Sato, be a doll and walk our dear Neito home tonight, won't you?" Hisato had said with a smirk. "After our meet-up, you've proved to me that you have a bit more bonding you need to do, and I think this may be a good way to do it."
He and Ichiki looked at each other in annoyance and disbelief. She had taken a step forward, uncertainty lacing her tone. "Sir, with all due respect, when did you care about our relationships? Last time I checked, you encouraged our bickering outside of professional meetings."
Hisato kept a patient smile on his face, which was rare for his normally short-tempered self. "Last time I checked, I was in charge around here and you did what I said, isn't that right, Seichii?" He snarled, turning to the dark-haired male standing next to them.
Seiichi stood like someone in the Military, not daring to even flinch when addressed. "Yes sir, our purpose is to follow your every word without question." His deep eyes stared into space as he spoke.
"That's right-" the tall, muscular Hisato nodded, looking back to the much smaller and petite Ichiki "-then Sato, tell me why it is you felt the need to speak out on this particular request?"
At this point, Ichiki had fallen back into her place, hands folded, eyes glued to the ground, and body shaking. "Y-you're right sir. I was wrong to question your authority. It won't happen again."
The terrifying man's pupils dilated as he stepped forward, looking at her intensively. "It better not, you know how much I just despise punishing my children." A crooked smile appeared across his face. "I would hate to have to put you through that dreaded process of training you again, my dear."
Trembling, she didn't dare meet his eyes. "N-no, please. I promise to be good. Just... anything but that." Her words were barely a whisper and this shocked Monoma. He had never seen her so terrified. Although, it did make sense. Even Seichii was horrified by just the thought of Hisato.
As Neito began to snap back to the present, a thought came to mind. "Hey, Ichiki?" He looked at her tanned face.
Ichiki glared at him, poison lacing her tongue. "What?" Her eyes were like crescents as she stared, causing Neito to flinch.
"I- uh, do you think Hisato will bring in others?" He looked at his feet, avoiding her deadly gaze. "I mean, bring in others and, uhm-" he paused, finding the right words "-and 'train' them the way he did to us." His eyes glistened in the late moonlight, blond head bobbing as he walked.
