"So you going to work now" Nahmir said over the FaceTime call we were having
"Yes Nahmir, that's why I have my work uniform on" I said looking at the camera
"You need to work for me, I get bored when you leave for work you be there all day" Nahmir said twisting one of his dreads
"Work for you and do what, and besides I love my job it's the one moment where I can talk about shoes and not be looked at like I'm a weirdo" I said
"Please just think about it, I need an assistant and I would rather it be you than anyone else" Nahmir said
"I'll think about it today while I'm on my break" I said
"Alright. What time you go on break again" Nahmir said
"12:50, remember" I said
"Oh yeahhhh, I'm coming up there at 12:50" Nahmir said
"Alright" I said hanging up so I could leave
As I'm walking out the door with my stuff Nahmir texts me
Nahmir damn, thanks for hanging up on me
I replied back with 'it was an accident, I had to get to work'
Foot locker
"Hey Tasha!" I said walking up to the counter putting my bag underneath
"Hey. So I got some new stuff for you to do, we have three or four people that are coming in today for an interview. I want you to interview all four of them now you can decide to hire all four of them or not hire any of them but that's up to you. I know you normally start off at the cash register but instead I'm going to have you make the schedules for next week so that we can post them and then in two hours the people that you'll be interviewing will be coming in" Tasha said
"Alright" I said grabbing my bag and going to the back where my new office is
I sat the stack of papers on my desk taking my phone out of my bag
Nahmir are you there yet?
Mia yeah, I'm here Nahmir. I'm gonna text you back when I'm done this paper work and these interviews
Nahmir okay
I put my phone back in my bag looking at the stack of papers and beginning to go through them so that I could make everyone's schedule. Once I was done making everyone's schedule it was time for me to do the interviews so I went back up to the front of the store where I was met with the first person.
"Hi, I'm here for my interview my name is Jaden" the guy said
"Hey I'm Mia your gonna be interviewing with me today so you can just follow me to the back" I said while Jaden followed me to my office
Once we got to my office he sat across from me as I asked him a series of questions
"So why do you wanna work here, what makes you a great candidate for us" I said
"Well I've loved shoes all my life, I have great communication skills and I'd be really good at selling the shoes to our customers" Jaden said
"Alright, now if you were to get hired what days would work best for you— mornings, evenings, weekends or weekday" I said
"I'm actually available for all of those" Jaden said
"Alright well it was nice talking with you, I'll get back to you over the next few days to let you know what the next steps are going to be" I said
"Alright, thanks for your time" Jaden said leaving
After Jaden left I went to the front again and grabbed the second person
"Hey I'm treasure and I'm here for my interview" Treasure said
"Hey I'm Mia your gonna be interviewed by me so just follow me to the back and we'll get started" I said
Once we got to my office she sat across from me while I asked her a series of questions
"So why do you want to work here, why should I hire you and not anyone else" I said
"Well I'd love to work here because I love shoes and I love helping customers decide on what shoe looks best on them, I have great communication skills and I don't let the rude customers get in my way" Treasure said
"Alright I'm gonna give you a scenario— a family of three comes into the store and they all want the air max plus's but the only size available is in kids you inform the family about the size that we have available but the mother isn't going for that. What do you do?" I said
"Well I would tell her that i understand how much she was looking forward to getting that shoe. I would also tell her about the other shoes that we have and tell her what sizes we have to try and get her and her family to buy another shoe" Treasure said
"Okay. Here's scenario two, we just got a new shipment of shoes that your stocking onto the shelf and you see one of your fellow employees arguing with a customer on the other side of the store what would you do" I said
"Well even though I'm supposed to be stocking the new shipment I would go over to my fellow employee and the customer to try and determine what their talking about and why my fellow employee is arguing with the customer" Treasure said
"Alright sounds good, it was nice talking to you you'll be hearing from me over the next couple of days regarding the next steps" I said
