Chapter 6

I stop dead in my tracks and she looks at me. "Katy you're alive." She runs over to me and gives me the biggest hug ever.

"Beth what are you doing here?" I question.
"Looking for you of course. Blake didn't believe me when I told him I thought you were alive." Blake is my older brother, Beth and Blake are fraternal twins. "Oh my god I can't believe you're alive." She says and gives me another hug.

"Well come over here and let's talk." I lead her over to the side hall and sit on a bench in the hall and spend the next hour talking to her about how I got here.

"How did you find me?" I ask.

"I tracked down the place where you were when you crashed, and then I looked at eh traffic cameras about 50 feet away and saw the gut that answered the door standing about 20 feet away. It took me 4 years to find you and now i finally did and you can come home now." Beth says.

"Beth what makes you think I'm going to go with you?" I ask.

"Because you're my sister and we're family." She says.

"Beth these people are my family too." I say.

"No they're not, they're just people who kidnapped you when you were 13." She snaps at me. I stand up "They didn't kidnap me, they gave me a choice to go home or stay here with them and I chose to stay here." I yell.

"Why would you do that? Why wouldn't you call or something to let us know you were alive?" She demands and also stands up.

"Because I didn't want you to know that I was alive!" I yell. I immediately see the hurt in her eyes and I say "Please don't go anywhere I'll be right back." She nods her head instead of saying something. I walk into the quarter and I know that everyone was listening so I say in a normal voice "Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, Hayley." They are all around me in seconds including Kol.

"I need one of you to compel her." I say to all of them.

"Why you just got your sister back?" Hayley asks.

"Look I don't want to go back, and I don't want them to know I'm alive and I don't want them to look for me." I say trying to keep it simple.

"I won't do it." Rebekah and Hayley say at the same time.

"I don't think it's a good idea Katy." Klaus says.

Elijah sighs "What if you want to go back one day, they won't remember you."

"I won't want to go back." I tell him.

"But what if you do?" Elijah asks.

"Elijah I'm telling you I won't." I say.

Kol says "I'll do it. I'll do it." He says again.

"Okay follow me." I say. We walk back together and I say "Thank you for doing this."

"It's no problem." He says in return but doesn't look at me.

We reach Beth and she turns to look at us. "Who's this?" She demands.

"Beth this is Kol he's going to talk to you for a minute." i say. He sits down next to her "Tell me what to say." He says.

"Tell her that I died in the car accident 4 years ago, that I was buried next to our parents. The ceremony was beautiful, that her and Blake never doubted that I was dead. That they moved on but never forgot their baby sister who loved them so much." At this point I started crying. "Tell her that I love her and Blake so much but they have to move on." I put my hand over my mouth to keep some of the tears contained.
I walk past Klaus and everyone else and Klaus calls out for me and tries to stop me. But I dodge his hand and just shake my head. I get to my bathroom and lock myself in there. I start crying even harder and collapse onto the floor. I bring my knees up to my chest and cried for about an hour.

Someone knocks on the door and says "Katy? You in there?"

"Go away." I say knowing they'll hear me. Although I can't tell who it is only that it's a guy, the British accents can get a little confusing.

"Katy please open the door." The voice said.

"Who is it?" I ask

"It's Kol." He says.

"Oh okay go away." I say.

"Please Katy I know you're hurting it will help to talk. He says.

"I don't want to talk to you Kol." I say.

"Then you talk and I'll listen." He says. I get up momentarily to unlock the door and then sit right back down. As soon as he walks in the bathroom he just kind of looks at me for a second. I know I look like crap, my make up has been ruined, my boots are across the floor and I took out my french braid so my hair is a little curly and wet from tears.

"Okay why did you want to compel her?" I ask him. "Why not agree with the others and let me live with this?" I ask.

"Well if it was me I would want to make my own decisions, also I wanted to make up for almost killing you. and all."

"Well you did good." I tell him. He looks up at me and says "Katy I am sorry. I know it's hard to lose family but you said you chose this. How did you even come to this?" He asks.

"Um well my parents died in a car wreck and I almost died but Klaus saved me. He brought me here and told me that my parents died and that I could stay here or I could go back home. I didn't want to deal with my brother or sister or the fact that my parents were dead. So I let them believe that I was dead. It's pretty simple." I say and get up. "Well that's enough crying for one day, thanks for everything you did earlier." I say.

'I would do it all again." He tells me. I walk out and call my best friend Kaylie.

"Oh my God Katy!" She yells into the phone. "You haven't texted me in forever." She says.

"It's literally been 5 days since I have talked to you. I say back. With everything going on I honestly forgot.

"Can I come over today?" She asks. "Hold on let me ask." I tell her.

"KLAUS CAN KAYLIE COME OVER?! I scream. "SURE!" He yells back. "You can come over." I tell her. "Thanks Love you Katy." She says. "Love you too Kaylie." I tell her when I realize that Kol is still standing there looking at me.

"What?" I ask him.

"You're beautiful you know that right?" He asks me.

"Wait, what?" I start to blush and I turn away. "Why would you say something like that?" I ask. He appears in front of me and lifts up my chin so I am looking at him. "Because it's true." Then he steps away and says "Katy remember what I just told you always and forever." Then there's nothing where he was just standing. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I hear someone yell "Hello from downstairs and I know Kaylie is here. I walk down the stairs and see Kaylie walking around yelling "Hello". "Kaylie what did I tell you about walking into strangers houses?" I ask.

"Katy!" She yells and runs at full speed at me.

"Kaylie!" I yell back and run at her as fast as I can without hurting my stomach where the glass was. We collide and fall to the ground laughing.

"And who is this?" I hear an all too familiar voice say. Kaylie stands up immediately and says "I'm Kaylie." I finally get up and step a little further away from Kol.

"We're leaving now." I say to Kol. "Come on Kaylie." I say and pull her up the stairs. When we make it to my room and I tell her who Kol is and everything else she wants to know Rebekah comes in my room and says "Are you girls ready to go shopping?" And gives Kaylie a big hug. Kaylie's mom and dad don't really care what she does so she is over here like all the time.

"Of course we're ready to go." Kaylie says.

Rebekah says "Alright well let's go shopping then."
