Walking up to Jungkook and seeing that the boy had his eyes closed, Jimin decided to sit beside him. His hand fiddled, deciding whether he wanted to touch him. Looking at his situation, Jimin had nothing else in his mind except sympathy and pity.
"I am okay," Jungkook spoke, startling Jimin. "Can you please drop me home?"
Jimin panicked when Jungkook opened his eyes the next moment and dropped his legs down on the floor, but he also felt surprised that Jungkook asked him for help. "You mightn't have taken the poison, but you did get alcohol poisoning, Jungkook. I'd take it easy if I were you."
The boy stopped for a moment, thinking deeply, feeling annoyed that he brought additional hospital expenses upon himself. He would have to move houses again, and that alone would cost him more than he could afford at the moment without asking for his parents' help. His company also didn't provide him with health insurance as he was only interning for a few months.
"Are you feeling alright?" Jimin asked softly, considerate to keep his tone low. As much as he wanted to know what happened, he knew that Jungkook must be feeling everything but. The boy flashed a small smile and stood up carefully, feeling his stomach aching. Seeing him, Jimin was on his feet as well.
They walked out of the ward and Jungkook looked around. The hospital was much bigger, and he knew it must cost big money too. As he sauntered towards the reception with a heavy heart. Jimin followed him closely. "How much do I have to pay?" He asked at the window.
"Jungkook," Jimin called him slowly. "I already paid. We should check with the doctor once before leaving."
The boy stared at Jimin blankly, at the loss for words for a moment. After taking an awkward long minute, he asked. "You paid?"
"Yeah, but don't worry about it. You can pay me back whenever you can. I hope you don't mind it, but the priority was for you to become healthy again." Jimin didn't know how to tell Jungkook that his boyfriend fled when he thought that he had taken poison. In honesty, he also panicked and brought Jungkook to the hospital because he believed Jin's words. But thankfully, it wasn't anything fatal.
"I don't want to go back home," It was now Jungkook started shaking his head and his face scrunched to expel the tears out of his eyes.
"Hey," Jimin took courage and held Jungkook's palm. "It's going to be okay. Let's go." He looked around, seeing a few eyes on them.
Jungkook was so vulnerable that he didn't question and let Jimin walk him to his car. Once the man made sure that Jungkook was comfortable inside, he got in the driver's seat and cranked up the heat.
The younger was crying softly while hiding his face embarrassedly. "I- I am sorry for being a bother. I think I'll manage my ride home."
"No!" Jimin lurched and held Jungkook's hand which flew to the door handle suddenly. "Don't think about me. Nothing is a bother. Let's make sure you are okay first. Besides, we literally live in the same building."
Jungkook now looked up at Jimin through his teary eyes, unable to understand why was this stranger helping him out when his own boyfriend ran away at the sight of trouble, but the comparison gave him something to think about, and it simultaneously ensured Jimin that the younger wouldn't run away, so he went back to meet the doctor and returned with medicines.
Driving away from the hospital, Jimin stopped the car after a few minutes at the coffee shop and brought Jungkook and himself the drinks and some food before resuming.
By the time they reached home, Jungkook wasn't crying anymore, but he was unable to hide his pain either. No one moved even when the car had stopped. "Do you have friends here you can call and stay with them for some time?" Jimin started. Jungkook shook his head. His colleagues were great, but he wasn't close to them. If he went to Mrs. Sago in his situation, he was sure that the woman would definitely contact his parents out of concern. "You can come with me."
Jungkook's neck whipped at Jimin at the suggestion in shock response.
"I have extra room and I work all the time. You won't even have to see me," Jimin chuckled softly, but it was too soon for a Joke. Jungkook only looked away and Jimin knew that the latter needed a lot more convincing. "It's okay, Jungkook," he spoke in an earnest tone, understanding his hesitation. "I promise I won't ask you anything unless you want to share. I am sorry for whatever happened, but I know you can't be on your own. Stay at my place for a few days... You can decide what you want to do once you are feeling better."
"You've done enough, Hyung. I'll just... I'll..." Jungkook had no words to speak, but facing the reality was too soon, and he wasn't the slightest bit ready.
"Okay... How about you stay for tonight and we will see how it goes tomorrow."
Jungkook wanted to nod, but he hoped his silence could just be the answer enough. Jimin's lips curved a bit when he felt Jungkook's reservation falling. "Let's go." He opened the car door and got out, letting Jungkook follow.
He was carrying the coffee and the food and leading the way when he realized Jungkook had slowed down. He turned and his questioning gaze met the younger one. "Could you-" Jungkook gulped his throat.
"Say it, Jungkook," Jimin urged softly, walking back to him.
"I need clothes. Can you please go up and bring me a few things?"

In a few minutes, the man had brought two pairs of work clothes and home clothes for the boy along with his office bag to his apartment. Jungkook was sitting on the couch when Jimin entered the room.
"Come, I will show you your room."
The boy stood up, not wanting to say anything else.
Jimin showed Jungkook the room and told him the trick with the window before he placed the toiletries and some fresh flowers inside, ensuring everything was available before leaving.
Jungkook closed the door and fell down on the bed to cry. How did everything get ravaged so fast? He kept cursing himself, putting himself responsible for everything that happened. He blamed himself for the failure of his every relationship. He believed he was stupid to consider that he was ready to be in one. He convinced himself that he wasn't made for committed relationships, that he wasn't ready for love, and that he didn't deserve it either.
He kept crying for hours and when he heard a knock on the door, he jumped to his feet. Wiping his tears quickly, he paced to the door and opened it to realize that it was dark outside. "Dinner's ready." Jimin beamed at him beautifully, seeing the coffee and food still untouched on his table.
"You could've called me. I would've helped."
Jimin's brows came closer as he just looked at Jungkook. "You don't have to worry about anything here, Jungkook," he spoke slowly and in a very low, soft, yet firm tone. "Work on feeling better, and I might ask your help next time."
It oddly caused Jungkook to smile.
"Do you want to shower first?"
"Please give me five minutes."
"Take your time, Jungkook. No rush, okay?"
Jungkook's brows came together too as he mutely nodded and walked back into the room with his head full of thoughts. He had met Jimin many times before, but that didn't prevent him from realizing that this man unlike his ex-boyfriend was extremely soft-spoken.
When Jin was mostly grumpy and always rushed him to do things, be it breakfast, showering, or leaving for the office, Jimin seemed too patient. He wondered if Jimin was being nice to him because he pitied him, given his situation.
Either way, he wasn't used to getting anything without doing something in return for it. And so far, Jimin had taken him to the hospital, paid for him, brought him home, and now cooked him food. He didn't know how would he return the favors.
