Imari knocked on the door multiple times before her mother let her in."I told you to visit us more often, didn't I?" Cherri, Imari's mother, jokingly said.
Imari smiled slightly before pecking her mother's cheeks. "Sorry, I was busy with work and stuff."
Lies. She has been at home for a week after the incident with Beau. Imari can't seem to focus enough to even attend her online job.
"Are you overworking yourself again, Imari? I told you to always take care of your-"
"Mom, I'm okay." Imari grinned softly at her mom to ease her worrieness.
Imari doesn't want her mother prying any further to her non-existent love life after what happened with her past lover.
"Alright," Cherri sighed before continuing cooking in the kitchen. "Oh! I forgot to buy some tomatoes from the grocery."
"I'll go get it for you," Imari said before her mom can even protest.
Imari walked out of the house and walked to some grocery store near their village.
She was scanning the shelves before she heard a man yelling beside the other section.
"Hey man, I think you need to leave before I call the police," Imari's brows furrowed before slipping past some sections.
Her steps halted when she saw Beau standing beside the counter, doing some sign language to the cashier guy.
The employee can't seem to understand what he was saying and was clearly annoyed by it.
Imari can't help but to walk towards them. "Is there something wrong here?" She asked.
Beau turned and got a surprise look on his face, clearly not expecting Imari to be there.
"This guy doesn't have enough money on him. I can't even understand what he's saying!" The cashier guy crossed his arms.
Imari looked at Beau, he was doing sign language and bringing his hands inside his pockets. She was confused, looks like the guy left his money at home.
Imari felt her brows shot up. "And you'll call the police for that?"
The guy nodded before frowning. "Do you know him? Just pay for him and we'll have no trouble."
Imari didn't say a thing as she placed the tomatoes on the counter before turning to Beau who was still looking at her.
"May I?" She held her hand towards the things Beau wanted to buy.
Beau hesitatingly nodded his head before looking down. He was clearly ashamed of what happened.
Imari smiled to herself before looking at the cashier guy who was grumbling nonsense under his breath.
The two walked out of the store. Beau stopped in front of Imari before doing signs.
If Imari will be honest, she knew she doesn't understand the sign yet it was obvious the guy was thanking her.
Imari smiled. "It's not free if that's what you're thinking," She jokingly said.
Beau shook his head before mouthing, 'How?'
Imari grinned before she turned her head sideways and pointed her cheek.
She was kidding, alright. That's why she quickly turned around to face him yet she felt warm lips against her own causing her to gasp loudly.
Both of them froze on their spot before Imari stepped back and blinked many times.
"O-Oh.. Oh wow, I mean, I'm sorry." She said, embarrassed.
Beau bit his lower lip before shaking his head while smiling. He turned away and started walking before looking back at Imari and waving at her.
Imari licked the bottom of her lips before waving back at Beau. Smiling and blushing to herself until she got home.
