"Rose?!" Robin called nervously, as he knelt down to cradle her in his arms. "Rose?!" He asked again, this time with more panic, and shook her as if she was just asleep.

"Princess?" He cried as his voice shook, his eyes becoming glossy. Maria this whole time stared hopelessly at the limp body of her sister, silent tears falling down her cheeks.

"Please come back, I need you", Robin cried as he hugged her frail body to his chest. Robin recalled the first time he met Rose. She slashed his hand with a needle, which he still had a scar from. They didn't get along to begin with, but she saw good in him when no one else did. She was willing to forgive him of the terrible things he had done, she even managed to love him.

He never even got to kiss her.

"Please", he begged as he buried his head in her chest, tears falling down his face, soaking her blouse. The forest looked dead and decayed. Plants were wilting and leaves were falling, never to return. How could they fail? They got everything they needed for the potion.

The colour had drained from Rose's face, she looked so thin, as if death itself had a human form.

Several moments passed and Robins cries echoed through the silent forest.

"GET BACK HERE MERRYWEATHER!" The booming voice of Coeur De Noir suddenly bellowed as he and Sir Benjamin reaced the top of the hill, however, stopped short to see the lifeless body of Rose in Robins arms and his tear stained face. More figures followed from behind them, including Miss Heliotrope, Loveday, Marmaduke, Digweed.

There was silence.

"See what you've done father?!" Robin shouted through his tears, "are you happy now?!"

Coeur De Noir looked taken aback, he studied the dead forest and the lifeless girl in his sons arms.

"Now she's gone!" He continued to cry, "please come back to me", he whispered in Rose's ears,

The whole forest mourned the loss of their princess, even the fairies in the evening glow, came and performed a swan song for Rose. Sprinkling fairy dust and flower petals over her. At first Robin was shocked to see them and shielded Rose from their gifts, but Maria placed a hand on his shoulder, assuring him that they were friends.

The silence that followed had never been so bitter. Loveday had her face buried in Sir Benjamin's chest, and he had tears pouring from his eyes.

"I love you". He had to say it one more time.

He cupped her face with his hand, and stroked her pale cheek with his thumb, and moved a strand of her golden hair from her face. He lowered his head down and allowed his lips to place a gentle and warm kiss, delicately upon her cold lips.

In that moment there was nothing else and no one else there. Just Rose and Robin. His goodbye to his true love.

Muffled sobs could be heard when Robin lifted his head, and hung it down to his chest. His tears gently falling on to her face.

A gasp was suddenly heard, followed by an angelic smile and the fluttering of open eyes of Rose. Robin choked back a sob as whirlpools of blue and aqua stared back into his chestnut, brown eyes.

"Robin", Rose breathed as she smiled and looked up at him with all the love in the world.

"Princess?" Robin laughed, as she sat up to meet his height, the life flooding back into her. The golden hair became more vibrant, her eyes ablaze with light, her cheeks as pink as strawberries and lips as scarlet as the sunrise.

"Did you miss me?" Rose laughed as Robin stared at her in shock, "are you going to sit their and gawk all day?" She laughed, "yes", he mumbled. "Well don't, you look stupid", she teased, and Robin couldn't help but laugh, memories floating through their minds.
