BOOK 2 (The other Merryweather is Book 1)
After Rose and her younger sister Maria broke the curse, they've been enjoying their life here at Moonacre. However, to break them from their perfect paradise, Rose's recent headaches have been getting worse...
It wasn't long before Rose and Robin reached the De Noir castle. The trees surrounded its towers like great armies defending their citadel. Their armoured trunks reached out in the air protectively. This great expanse of green enhanced the castles eerieness and beauty as its portcullis, made out of hard iron, guarded their passage.
All eyes were on Rose, as the duo walked silently through the courtyard. There were guards and servants of all kinds suddenly stopping what they were doing and reverting their attention to the young girl walking through their grounds. Rose felt a tight knot in her stomach as she spied a few particular gruff men, tattooed with battle scars, sharpening their swords, their eyes locked on her maliciously.
As Robin and Rose approached the far end of the grounds, they heard laughing drawing nearer. Robin suddenly stopped as a group of boys strutted round the corner in black leather. "Ah look who it is! Finally, we have the pleasure of seeing you again Princess", the tall, blonde laughed as he approached, and mockingly bowed towards Rose. Rose remembered only too well who this was, whilst she was was imprisoned in the castle, he tried to make a pass at her, but thankfully Robin stopped him.
"Come on Luke", Robin huffed as he marched through the boys, holding tightly onto Rose's arm. "Oh what do we have here?" Luke laughed whilst he took note of Robins grip on her. "It looks as if our friend Robin here has finally submitted to the whiles of the weaker sex", Luke mocked whilst the others whistled and cat called. Robin spun round to meet Luke face to face. "Back off man, just remember who's in charge here", Robin snapped and gave him a glare, before turning round and marching off with Rose following close behind. Luke's mocking laugh ringing in her ear.
Rose followed Robin through the rest of the grounds. A small scowl implanted on his face. Did the thought of him with her in that way annoy him that much? Not that she wanted it like that, nor did she want Robin she continuously kept telling herself. Robin led her up into one of the many towers and crossed over a few balconies, till they finally met an oak door at the end of a corridor in the main castle. "I hope this meets your expectation m'lady", Robin teased as he pushed back the heavy wooden door to reveal a small bedroom. Inside were many tapestries which decorated the walls; in the corner was a small canopy bed, with thick scarlet curtains falling down the sides; there was also a variety of other small pieces of furniture and a wash basin on a table. At the other end of the room was a large window, which overlooked the forest.
"Is that..." Rose exclaimed as she saw a tiny house in the distance placed quaintly in the woods. "Yep, that's Moonacre", Robin replied whilst walking up to the window behind her as the two gazed out into the morning sun. "Wow, you have a real advantage of spying on us", Rose joked as she continued looking out. She wondered if her uncle had realised she'd gone yet. She imagined Miss Heliotrope would beside herself with worry, pacing up and down the corridors. Maria. Oh Maria, she thought. Her younger sister would be so confused and hurt as to why she didn't come to her. They always told each other everything, but here she was in the De Noir castle about to set course for an adventure...a dangerous adventure.
Robin seemed to sense her discomfort and changed the subject, "come on, it's probably best if we set course at first light, and before then I would have liked to have taught you something about a sword", Robin smiled as she turned her attention away from Moonacre and placed her bag on the bed, then began making her way to the door.
"Hey, hey, hey, where do you think you're going?" Robin laughed. "What do you mean?" Rose asked, a look of puzzlement clear across her face. "How to expect to train in that", Robin signalled with his eyes as he looked up and down at her dress, frills and all. "Wait here", he smiled before exiting the room. A few minuets later he was back, except this time with a handful of neatly folded clothes.
"Oh no, you can't possibly expect me to wear that," Rose laughed in disbelief, there was no way she was putting on trousers. "Oh come on princess, it's not that bad, it's just for practical reasons." Robin laughed as he chased Rose around the bed post. He finally managed to tackle her onto the bed, their lips only inches away as they both breathed heavily in time with each other. Their eyes connected for what felt like hours.
"Fine", Rose groaned as she broke the silence. "Thank you", Robin breathed as he got off her. He exited the room and left Rose to stare at the pile of clothes that lay before her. "This is for the forest, for the forest Princess, oh and your life of course", Rose reminded herself, as she clenched her teeth and performed the horrifying task of changing out of her pretty, floral dress.
Robin waited outside patiently until the door creaked open and Rose stepped into the light. His eyes widened and his heart began to beat slightly faster, "wow", he whispered as Rose gracefully moved around in her new look, her golden hair hanging down in a long braid.

"You look...different", Robin stated, Rose frowned, "you don't like it, I told your this was a bad idea!", she cried, "no, no, no, it's a good different, a nice change, you look even...pretty", he mumbled the last word. Rose smiled, "what was that?" she teased, "did the great Robin De Noir just pay me a compliment?" She laughed, "alright don't get ahead of yourself", he smirked as the two ran down the corridor towards the courtyard, hand in hand.

Author's note: All images I use are just a basis of what is happening or what something looks like. E.g. the last image the girl has a dress on and brown hair, where as Rose has blonde hair and would be wearing what was in the image before that one. Just a quick note for those who might get confused. Though I do try and use the character of Elizabeth Swann for Rose's images, I sometimes find another picture that shows the feel I was going for better. Hope you're all enjoying it so far. Thanks for reading! XO
