Fai squints her eyes while she is trying to look at the menu on the wall. For a couple of seconds she just stands there, intensely staring at what kind of drinks they offer in this place until the barista walks over to her. "Can I perhaps help you?" he asks in the politest way. Fai smiles at the guy who seems to be about her age. "Can I order two coffees, one chocolate muffin and one vanilla muffin?" she asks. The barista quickly writes down what the brunette wants to order. "Two coffees and a chocolate and vanilla muffin, anything else?" he asks while he looks up from the little notebook in his hands. Fai shakes her head telling him this is everything she wants to order for now. "Do you want to take it or drink it here?" The barista rips the paper from his notebook and puts it on the bar while he slips the notebook back in the pocket of his apron. "I'd like to drink it here. My friend will arrive any moment." Fai explains, still a friendly smile on her face. "Okay, that will be 160 baht, please." the guy finally says. Fai nods and grabs her wallet out of her purse to pay for the order. "You can go sit anywhere; I will bring you your order when it's finished." he says when he puts away the money.
Fai walks over to a table that is seated near a window -knowing her friend always enjoys those kinds of seats where you can look outside- and sits down. A little sigh leaves her lips, her eyes scan the little bar. It is very different from the usual coffee place she goes to. "Different but very cozy." she mumbles, her eyes slowly drifting outside.
"Oh my gosh, Fai!" a familiar voice calls. When the brunette looks up her eyes catch those of her best friend. "Amy!" she stands up to give the girl a tight hug. "It's been so long since we have last seen each other!"
Amy releases the girl and looks at her from head to toe. "You look so stunning! That blue dress really brings out the color of your eyes." Fai smiles. "Thanks, Amy. Tell me, how was your vacation with Mork?" the two girls sit down. "It was great! We had so much fun and we've been to the most beautiful places." A big smile appears on Amy's face. "We had a lot of late-night beach walks, it was amazing." she continues, a dreamy look in her eyes."Good to hear that you had fun." Fai tries to hide her jealousy, but she knows she failed already. Whenever Amy talks about her boyfriend Fai cannot help but feel jealous, thinking about the fact she never had a boyfriend before. Amy is always so quick to notice if anything is wrong with her. "What about you? How is your love life going?" her friend asks. The question makes the brunette almost choke on her own saliva. "My what?" she asks as if she has no clue what the words 'love life' mean. "Ah come on! You know what I mean!" Amy laughs and shakes her head. "I saw those pictures of you and that mysterious guy, come on and tell me what's going on between the two of you!" Fai her cheeks turn bright red, she tries to hide her face, but once again Amy noticed it before she could hide them. "Ah, you must really like him!" she teases.
Fai shakes her head immediately. "I absolutely do not like him!" she states, but her best friend does not seem to believe her. Amy squeezes her eyes and looks straight into Fai her eyes. "Wow, I never thought you would be into that kind of guys! Tell me more, I am so curious about him!" Amy seems to be really excited about it all even though she barely knows what it is that she could be excited about.
"No Amy, it's not like that at all. I can think of at least a hundred reasons why I shouldn't like him." Fai cannot help but sigh, she wished her friend would not have started talking about him. "A hundred reasons?" Amy raises an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?" Fai nods her head. "Yes, I am.""Well..." a grin appears on Amy's lips. "Then why don't you tell me the first reason 'why you shouldn't like him'. If the first reason is a good one, then I will leave it alone." Fai her eyes grow wide open, even though she said she could think of a hundred reasons, she did not think she would actually have to tell them. Or one of them at all. She was just saying stuff to stop the whole conversation about him. Fai never thought she would provoke her friend to actually ask her about the reasons.
"Ah come on, you said it yourself. Now I am curious about them." Amy places her elbow on the wooden table and lets her chin rest in the palm of her left hand. "Okay, okay, I will tell you one of the reasons." Fai sighs, she sits up a bit more straight trying to gain some time before her eyes lock in those of her friend again. "Well, I shouldn't like him because, obviously, he is a bad boy."---
Fai walks through the grass, a shortcut she always takes when she is in a hurry or has to carry way too heavy stuff. This time she takes the shortcut because her hands are full with books she borrowed from the library for an essay she had to write. She finished the essay this afternoon and thought it would be better to return the books immediately before she forgets to do so again. Something that happened to her quite often already. "I still don't know why I took so many books; I didn't use half of them." the brunette growls, annoyed by how heavy they are. "Next time I have to spend more time researching for good books, so I don't have to borrow all these unnecessary books again." she adds, a deep sigh leaving her lips. For a second Fai looks up to the beautiful blue sky above her, the weather is so good today that it makes all her annoyances disappear in an instance. "It is way too beautiful weather to be angry." A bright smile appears on Fai's face again before she continues her way to the library. But of course, life does not always take the path you want it to and as if God planned to destroy her good mood, she trips over a random branch that fell from a tree. The big pile of books falls out of her hands, the girl barely able to keep her own balance. "You have got to be kidding me!" she yells while kneeling down to pick up the books."Hey, are you okay?" a slightly familiar voice asks. Fai notices someone kneeling down in front of her, helping her to grab all the books. "I am fine, thank you." she looks up, her eyes meeting those of her old high school senior. "P'Boss?" she asks in disbelief. And after hearing her say his name he seems to remember her as well. "Nong Fai!" he smiles, handing her some of the books after they got up again. Fai her smile slightly disappears when she spots all the tattoos and piercings that cover the older boy his skin. The last time she saw him was when he was in his last year of high school, he looked a bit goofy back then, but he definitely was a nice and warm person. The new look he has got does not fit that character at all. Fai is taken aback by his slightly scary looks, when she looks behind him, she sees a group of three guys waiting for him. All of them covered in black ink and some piercings. "Wait, are those the scary looking seniors my friends talked about earlier this week?" Fai mumbles to herself, thinking about a conversation her friends had some days ago.
"It's good to see you again, how are you doing?" Boss smiles at the younger girl. "I-I am s-sorry I am a b-bit in a h-hurry." Fai says, a total lie but she just needs to get away from him as soon as possible. There is no way she will associate herself with someone like him. He is not the same Boss as he was three -almost four- years ago. "Bye." she says with a quick, fake smile before quickly walking away.Boss just stands there, looking at her until she completely disappears out of his sight. "Hey Boss!" one of his friends calls, the group of three boys walk over to their friend. King, the one who just called out his name looks in the same direction his friend is staring. "Who was that?" he asks, putting an arm around Boss his shoulder.
"Someone I know from high school."
