"Take your time." states mom sarcastically from down the stairs. I only had a few more random items left to put in my duffle bag before I'm ready to go. This will be the first time, in my sixteen years of life, moving. Of course I've went on vacations and such I'm not that much of a hermit, but moving just wasn't in the agenda. I'm not all that bitter to say goodbye to my old boring town of Baroda, Michigan though. I'm rather excited to be honest. With positive thoughts flowing through my mind I flip the light switch off and close my bedroom door. I walk out of the house without turning back knowing it would be no good to look back into the past so instead I think of the future.

As we drive down the road I gaze out the window and think of my new life that awaits me. I'm thrilled to get a fresh start with new people, places, and memories to be made and found. The one thing I was most definitely not looking forward to you ask?

School.

It's not like I absolutely hate school it's just the fact that I would have to be introduced to so many new students and memorize a whole new school layout along with having no friends. Other than that school is no problem! I hope I can make a few friends within the first few days of my junior school year. I'm not really a shy girl but I sure as hell won't go out of my way to befriend you.

Seeing as I have a few long hours before we arrive at our new home in Virginia I pull out one of my new books I bought just before the trip- Hush Hush. Did I happen to mention I'm kind of a bookworm? Well yeah there you go. My deepest secret has just been revealed. I'm pretty sure I have more books than articles of clothing and let me tell you I have countless articles packed away. I open the book to chapter one and at once am sucked into a world that I only wish was my own.

By the time I put my book down I'm already on chapter fifteen. The book is just so good it's hard to find a relatively good stopping point. looking at the clock on my lock screen of my iPhone I see it's already 9 in the afternoon and decide to take a quick power nap before we reach the town. Grabbing my blanket and pillow, which I never travel without, I get comfortable and drift off into a peaceful nap.

I feel somebody tapping my cheek and slowly pry my eyes open. "Honey we are almost there you should probably wipe the drool off your face and get your things together." I rolled my eyes at mom before we burst into a fit of laughter. Mom was one of the most important people in my life considering the fact that it has always been just me and her against the world. My so called dad left mom when I was two and that's all the information I ever got related to him. Not that I care, my mom is all I need. she's my best friend and usually my partner in crime.

Not too long after we reached the "Welcome to Waterfall Springs" sign. The town was fairly large, maybe around 50,000 residents. which considering my old towns population was huge.

As we drive through the town I notice a few unfamiliar stores that must be family owned as well as a handful of restaurants. There is apparently suppose to be a mall that is three stories tall 20 minutes away from where I live. There were so many mansions it was hard to tell if there was anybody but rich people who live in this town.

We continue to drive until we turn to the left and end up in a paved gated driveway with a street sign that says "Falls dr". Wow we get our own street name, cool. We ride along the driveway for what seems like ages until I spot a magnificent log house along with a two door garage which is unattached from the house.

I turn towards mom tongue tied, "This is beautiful mom. How long did it take to build?" Mom was a very well know architect and had fully designed and helped build the house. She gets to travel around the world all year round for big projects and such which leaves me at home alone several times a month. Hey I'm not complaining.
