"Safire! No! Bad girl." I screeched when I saw the fragments of stuffing left from the pillow that was currently hanging from Safire's snout. I sighed heavily as I went to work picking up the balls of stuffing on my hands and knees. After cleaning up the living room I glanced at the clock. "Shit."

I absolutely cannot be late. Mr. Smiths will kill me. I ushered Safire into her cage and practically ran out the door.

As I reach the school doors I push open the door and am greeted by a waft of paper and ink. Tightening my grip on my bag I weave through the countless students mingling in the halls. Finally reaching my destination I plop down in my seat and take a minute to catch my breath.

"How's puppy training working out for you?" Faith asks as she takes her seat in the desk behind me.

I glance over my shoulder, "Other than picking up a trail of chewed up things? Great. It's fantastic actually." I say in a sarcastic tone.

She grimaces, "That bad?"

I sigh, "That bad."

She leans forward in her seat, "Just think of the bright side. She can't stay a puppy forever."

"I know, I know, its only been a week but it feels like forever." I state just as Mr. Smiths walks in. Meaning my one hour of hell was about to begin.

Entering into the lunch room I find my seat at our usual table. Nibbling on my lunch i watched as Faith and Jordan walked to the table. Nobody said a word as they got situated which was quite unusual as they were always talkative. I quirked a brow, "What's up?"

Jordan looked up at me briefly before looking away mumbling a quite "nothing."

I rolled my eyes at his abnormal behavior. "Bull shit. I'm serious what's up you two."

Faith sighs in defeat. "Well during thanksgiving brake Jordan and I usually go to this camping retreat thing and this year you need at least three people to go and we were going to ask you but you just don't seem like you would be the camping type and with you just getting Safire and stuff we just-"

I cut off her incessant rambling, "I'll go."

Both her and Jordan's eyes visibly brightened, "You will!?" Exclaimed Faith.

I held up one finger, "On one condition. I get to bring Safire."

Jordan and Faith glanced at each other before they both turned to me with smiles, "Deal."

***********

It was the last day before thanksgiving brake and everybody was ready to leave. Classes were shortened and most teachers just played movies. Faith, Jordan, and I were suppose to leave tonight for our one week camping trip and I still haven't even packed yet. I sat in my third period tapping my pencil against my desk until I felt a slight tap on my shoulder. I turned to look at the girl who tapped my shoulder, "Could you grab my pencil I dropped it under your desk?"

I gave her a weak smile before bending down to grab the fallen pencil. As I leaned back up I felt a sudden dizziness come over me and I leaned against the desk for support. "You okay?" Asked the girl who I think was Natalie.

I blinked my eyes a few times until the dizziness was gone. That's so strange I though before handing her the pencil. "Yeah I'm fine just got a little dizzy." That's the second time that's happened. Maybe I should get it checked out.

Arriving at home I walked through the house to find it silent. I was not surprised though mom told me she was going on a business trip since I was leaving for my camping trip anyways.

Making my way upstairs I set my bag near my bed and pulled out my black suitcase from under my bed. Setting the suitcase on-top of my bed I began to pick out clothes I would need for a week in the woods. "Pants, shirts, undergarments, hair things, bathroom toiletries, what else?" I sat on my bed thinking about what else I needed to pack when Safire's cold nose rubbed against my leg. I smiled and picked her up. "Aren't you excited?" She licked my face as I began to laugh.

She started to bark as a knock was heard on the front door. Jumping off my bed I set Safire down as she skidded off towards the door. I slug the door open and was greeted with Faith and Jordan standing on my porch. "You ready to go?" Asked Faith as she bent down and picked up Safire who was currently licking Faiths face none-stop.

"Almost I just need to get Safire's stuff together." I walked back into the house leaving the door open so they could come in as well.

"I'll take your things to the car. In the mean time get your butt going we are on a strict timeline missy!" Said Jordan before he disappeared into my room where my packed suitcase was located.

After a few minutes of gathering toys, food, and a cage for Safire we were ready to go. I put Safire on her leash and we all went to Jordan's car. I hopped into the back with Safire as Faith and Jordan sat upfront. "How long until we get there?" I asked out of curiosity.

Faith looks at the GPS that already had our destination plugged in. "Around three hours depending on how many times we stop."

I nod my head as I prop my feet onto the other seats in the back so that I'm laying across them. "Wake me up when we get there." Is all I said before I fell asleep with Safire in my arms.

I was begin shaken awake before I knew it and I groggily sat up from the seats. Rubbing my neck from the stiffness, I looked around to see that we were surrounded by woods on all side. There was a small log cabin which seemed to fit in perfectly with the scenery. Getting out of the car I stretched my sore, stiff muscles and grabbed Safire so she wouldn't run off.

"No need to worry ladies I will get everything. Thanks for your offer though." Said Jordan sarcastically from the trunk.

"Oh shut it Oscar. Your a man act like one for once. Besides I just got my nails done." retorts Faith as she examines her perfectly manicured nails.

Jordan was obviously not keen on Faith using his last name but he heaved the bags out of the truck anyways huffy and puffy the entire time. I only mentally rolled my eyes as I let out a small giggle.

As you walk into the cabin a waft of pine and pure autumn is all you can smell. I kind of like the calming scent. It allows you to put your mind at ease whilst still communicating with the nature around you. There was only two bedrooms and one bathroom so I chose the one on the left as it was bigger and me and Faith would be sharing a room.

It had been some time and Faith and Jordan both hadn't enter the cabin yet so I was starting to get a tad bit worried. I walked outside with Safire on her leash to see what was taking them so damn long.

I started to panic when I saw that all of our bags were on the ground and the trunk still open but Faith and Jordan were nowhere to be seen. I jumped a little when Safire started to bark and tug on her leash. "What is it girl?"

She continued to bark and I was really starting to get freaked out now. "Faith? Jordan? Are you there? This is not funny. I'm being serious." I yelled as I cautiously walked deeper into the woods. I froze when I saw a shadow behind a nearby tree. In a blink of an eye the shadow was gone. That is far to creepy for my liking. Just as I was about to turn around a hand landed ever so lightly on my shoulder and I let out a ear retching scream.
