"Thymilph has fallen in battle has he?" A booming voice asks

"Yes he has" 3 more voices say simultaneously

"Thymilph was one of the 4 generals. Must've gotten careless" another masculine voice sneers

"Don't forget the old saying, even an armadillo fights when it's cornered" an older voice grunts as he takes a hit from his pipe, "Which is another way of saying that you should never underestimate your opponent"

"What nonsense. If a lowly armadillo did try to fight, all you need to do is crush it" a feminine voice sneers

"You dont understand the finer subtleties of this world I see" the older voice snaps back

"You forget we are in the presence of the spiral king" the masculine voice says trying to stop the bickering, "Your Highness, I ask that the honor of retaking Dai Gunzan be given to me, Cytomander the swift"

"No you must give that mission to me sire. Thymilph was a good friend and companion" the feminine voice asks, "Please your majesty, grant me the chance to avenge his death. I beg you"

"A dear friend you say?" The booming voice asks

"Yes sire. In this world there are friendships that know not the boundary of gender" the feminine voice explains

"So what you're saying is that he was useful to your ends" the old voice mocks

"Hush your tongue you vermin" she snaps back

"I created you, yet you suggest that you know a friendship I am unaware of?" The booming voice asks, "As you wish. Go Adiane!"

"Thank you sire. Adiane the elegant will visit these pathetic humans and verse them in the power and terror of the spiral king" she responds as she disappears to prepare, much to Cytomanders dismay

"You do not approve Cytomander?" The booming voice asks

"Spiral King, you are both the immortal creator of this world, and the monarch who rule all within it" Cytomander says, "I have no intention of questioning or defying your decisions"

"Then leave me" the Spiral King says, to which Cytomander and the older voiced beastmen do

"They seek out the light, even though only death awaits them. It disgusts me. Pondering the nature of how these humans really are" the booming voice says to himself

Y/N POV

In the aftermath of the battle, we regrouped and Yoko and I immediately ran over to Gurren

"Kamina!" I shout as I drag him out of Gurren

No response

"KAMINA!!!" I shout even louder trying to hold back tears as the others circle around

"Kamina...no" Yoko says as she falls to her knees

"DAMNIT KAMINA!!! HOW COULD YOU DIE OUT HERE. I MADE YOU A PROMISE GODAMNIT. AND YOU HAD TO GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF KILLED. FUUUUUUUCK!!!!!" I shout out

As we mourn Kaminas death, the ledge we were on was suddenly shot by 50 or so remaining gunmen

"Don't think you've won just yet" one of them shouts out as they continue to fire at us

"You bastards. Everyone get ready" Kittan says

"No..." I say standing up, "They're mine"

"Are you insane? You cant take all of em on" Kittan says
