“ what did you do veronica?” archie shouted at her as he dragged into the lounge
Veronica sighed and pushed archie away from her. “what did I do?” she asked as she crossed her arms. Archie just glared at her.
“betty is crying, what the hell did you do?” archie said looking at her straight in her eyes. “what makes you think I did anything?” veronica answered back glaring back.
“oh, so she’s crying now why do you care anyway? “ veronica said
“obviously I care. She’s my best friend, her emotions matters to me.” Archie said
Veronica laughed “that’s so funny, what happened to you caring about betty’s feelings when you kissed me right after knowing betty’s feelings. And guess why, betty is crying. She found out about the kiss. “
Archie was taken aback “ i-I have no explaination to how I acted then, I was drunk and clearly out of my mind. I just knew that I liked you and I got an opportunity so I took it. If I was sober, I probably wouldn’t have done it. At least not the way I did. And so what if she knows about the kiss? All she was blabbering about veronica and jughead. So what did you guys do?” he said
Veronica shook her head “typical jock, coming to conclusions. Don’t ask me what we did, you should ask what she did” she said as she went past him to leave the room
“what do you mean?” archie said confused
“its not something we did, it what she did that’s making her cry. If she is the person I think she is” veronica said as she left the room
Archie was frustrated. He didn’t know what just happened, and heck he didn’t understand what veronica was saying. Why cant people be clear about what they want to say? He thought as he got out of the room.
If he isn’t getting the answers from veronica then he will get them from jughead. With that in mind he went to the blue and gold office in order to look for jughead.
Veronica was out of her mind. What a day. She thought. It’s like universe is out to get her today. First betty, then jughead now archie, when will she get a break. veronica thought. Pulling out her phone she quickly forwarded a text to jughead warning him about archie and decided to just skip class and went to the cafeteria for some alone time.
Archie just bombarded me with questions on what we did to make betty cry. Told him to ask her. He is probably on his way to meet you now. So heads up!
Jughead read the text veronica sent him and sighed. Didn’t he go through enough already today? He thought as he prepared himself for archie’s anger. As he saw archie head into the b n g he groaned.
“what archie? If you cant see, im in a foul mood so please if its not important leave me alone” jughead said looking at archie with a tired look.
“so you making betty cry is not important for you?” archie shouted at him angrily
That riled jughead up. “oh, now you care about her huh? Just because you cant have veronica, you want betty now?” he snarkily replied
Archie clenched his fists “shut up jughead! Betty is our friend. What did you do?”
“nothing. Absolutely nothing. Its your betty that did something unforgivable. And she is your friend maybe, but she’s definitely not mine. Today I got to see her for who she really is. So mind you I don’t give a rat’s ass why betty is crying. “ jughead said angrily
Archie was shocked at what he heard and took a step closer “just what the hell are you talking about? We all know betty couldn’t have done anything wrong. She is not like that” he said
Jughead scoffed “as of 3 hours ago, I thought the same too. Too bad we aren’t alkways right right?” he said
“I have had it with you and veronica. Can’t you be upfront and tell me what she did that made you and veronica so angry?” archie said
“no. because I don’t freaking answer to you. But I’ll tell you something. The whole reason for all this is because you freaking kissed veronica the other day and betty found out.” Jughead said as he got up and took his bag to leave the room.
Archie was looking confused and shocked when jughead stopped at the door and turned back to say “ oh, and for the record, stay away from veronica . I don’t want you or betty near her” with that he left the room.
He just headed to the cafeteria to get something to eat to distract himself from his friend’s betrayal and was surprised to find veronica already there. He went to her and asked “why aren’t you at class veronica?”
Veronica was startled hear jughead’s voice and turned and smacked his arm “give a girl some warning why don’t you?” she scoffed and turned around and replied “wasn’t feeling like it. Why aren’t you in class jughead?” she answered back
“same” jughead said as he sat across her.
“you were right archie did seek me out” jughead said after a minute of silence.
Veronica raised her eyebrows and looked at him. jughead sighed and said “I told him I don’t care why she is crying and that she isn’t my friend. Oh and I also told him to stay away from you”
“what? Why would you do that?” veronica questioned
“he’s an idiot. Whoi knows the next time he decides to harm you?” jughead said
“shees. Jug. That’s a little extreme isn’t it? Archie wouldn’t stoop so low” veronica said holding his hand
“you never know” jughead said
“so what now?” veronica asked
Jughead didn’t have the answer to that. They sat quietly next to each other and just enjoyed each other’s presence. Feeling thankful that at least they weren’t alone.
