It'd been three months since the breakup. (Y/N) couldn't believe how fast it had gone by already. She had thrown herself into her schoolwork to take her mind off things, which also resulted in her ignoring Eris and Lucia.
Lucia had brought up many times how often (Y/N) had been hiding out in her dorm room when they did hang out together. She'd deny it every time, then Eris would butt in and back up Lucia. They were never really arguments; the three of them always dropped the subject, realizing that the time they were spending together was important.
Now, the three were sitting in the Great Hall having lunch. (Y/N) was copying down notes as Eris and Lucia came to sit by her.
"Hey, (Y/N), nice to see you in the Great Hall for once." Lucia gave her a smile and brushed her blonde hair out of her face.
"It's quieter than the library and the dorms. Plus I was hungry," (Y/N) gave the two of them a smile as she laughed.
Eris wrapped an arm around her waist. "That's the girl I know!" she tied up her long, black hair before fixing her Slytherin tie. "Are you doing okay though?"
(Y/N) took a moment to think, adjusting her robes. "I think so. It's been a good few months." she shrugged and put away her work to eat and talk to them.
"It is okay to still be hurting you know." Lucia reminded her, and Eris laughed.
"And that's why you're a Hufflepuff, Lu."
And that's why you're a Hufflepuff.
(Y/N) bit her lip and reached for her glass of water, taking a small sip. Eris and Lucia's laughter had died down, noticing how quiet she'd gotten.
"(Y/N)?" Lucia spoke softly. "Are you okay? Did we say something?"
She shook them off and set her glass back down. "Yeah, I'm fine. It was just something Cedric used to say all the time." a small smile graced her lips. "But Eris is right. That's why you're a Hufflepuff."
The three girls broke into laughter again as they settled back into regular chit chat about school and their classes.

The weeks carried on, and (Y/N) slowly worked her way out of her room, and started spending more time down by the lake again, and with Lucia and Eris. Now, they were walking through the courtyard chatting, on their way to the lake.
"God I cannot wait until I don't have to share a room with Pansy Parkinson anymore," Eris spoke, and Lucia giggled. "It's not funny, Lu."
"Aren't there like three other girls besides the two of you in there?" Lucia asked, sticking a hand in her robe pocket.
"Yeah, but even so, Pansy frustrates me."
They decided to leave it there as we walked on, moving onto their Care of Magical Creatures homework. Supposedly, they were going to have a unit on Threstral's soon based on the reading Hagrid was having them do ahead of time.
The three girls were about to head down the path to the lake when Eris nudged (Y/N)'s arm. "Don't look, but Cedric seems to have found someone new already."
Despite being warned to not look, (Y/N) turned her head and saw that indeed, Cedric was walking up the path with a Ravenclaw on his arm. She stopped and watched before Eris and Lucia pulled her along.
She tugged out of their grasp and stopped on the path. "(Y/N)?" Lucia asked, sending Eris a worried glance.
"Sorry, I'm suddenly not feeling well." (Y/N) apologized and turned around, heading back toward the castle.
"(Y/N)!" Eris called, but she didn't listen as she stepped back inside the castle on her back to the Hufflepuff common room.
She was trying her best not to cry as she walked, accidentally bumping into someone on my way there. She turned to them and quickly apologized before hurrying down the hallway.
Draco was about to say something snarky in reply to being bumped into when he noticed that it wasn't even worth it. The Hufflepuff that had bumped into him was already retreating down the hall, wiping her eyes.
