I woke up at 6:30 the next morning. It was the first day of school, and I wanted to look good. My grandpa told me before I left that it's a private school. They had no dress code because the parents paid so much money that they thought it unfair to tell the kids how to dress. Thank god.
I pulled on a long sleeve white button top with a v neck and a red plaid mini skirt. I loved this outfit. Note to self to thank my dad for getting good clothes for me. Or whoever helped him. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I started on my makeup. I had taken a shower the night before after that phone call with Xavier. I was all sweaty and sticky from the beach. I still had his shirt that he had given me. It was a simple white basic tee, but it smelled like him, and was a great sleeping shirt. I washed it and kept it. My makeup consisted of shimmery gold eyeshadow, a light blush, mascara, eyebrow gel, and a red tinted lip gloss.
I pulled on some red some white chunky fila's, and walked downstairs with my backpack, car keys, and phone.
"Hey, Dad." I has though about it a lot last night, and I figured I should put more effort into our relationship. I know he just wants me to be happy, so I figured this was the first step.
"Hey, M. You want some coffee?" He asked.
"I think I'm good. I'm gonna stop by dunkin donuts. I really want some donut holes."
"Okay. Have fun, call me if you need anything." He laughed.
"Will do!" I shouted as I walked out the door.
As I pulled into school, I popped the last chocolate donut hole into my mouth. I wanted the powdered sugar ones, but I didn't wanna mess up my outfit. Just as I was taking the last sip of my coffee, my passenger car door opened, and Xavier slipped in.
"What are you doing?" I choked.
"What are YOU doing?" He asked.
"Finishing my coffee..."
"Cool, cool. I'm just sitting in your car."
"I can see that, but why?"
"What? Can't I sit in my girls car?"
"Your girl?! We've known each other for less than 24 hours. I admit, you are very attractive, and it's fun to mess with you, hence the Jacob thing, but I'm new, I don't want a boyfriend, I just wanna glide by, no attention, and get out of here." I spoke.
I decided to keep the fact that I was leaving after 5 months a secret. I was an expert at the Irish goodbye. I had already made up my mind that I was going back with Ari, but nobody had to know. I could tell my dad later.
"Fine, fine. But trust me, you will fall in love with me, and that's a promise."
"Whatever. Let's go."
We got out of the car and he walked around to my side.
"Oh, come on." I grumbled, sliding a hand down his face.
"What?"
"You."
"What about me?"
"Come one Apple. I know you're smarter than this."
"Forgive me, but I'm pretty lost."
He looked me up and down.
"How am supposed to fix this?" He motioned to my outfit, up and down.
"What about it? It's a cute outfit!"
"Don't get me wrong, you look INCREDIBLY hot, but I don't want other guys looking at you like I look at you." He sighed.
"Listen buddy, boyfriend or not, you have no say over my fashion choices."
"There's no way I can even fix this. It is a long sleeve top, and even if you wore my jacket, it wouldn't cover anything else that's not already covered."
"Well, you process this how you need to, but I have to be inside in 15 minutes so work through it quickly."
He dropped his head to my shoulder.
"You're so hot. How am I supposed to show everyone that you're my girl-"
"Not your girl" I interjected but he kept going as though I hadn't even spoken.
"-without giving you a hickey or something."
I lifted my hand up and pet his hair.
"Listen big guy, we have 12 minutes. Hurry this up. And don't you dare give me a hickey."
"But it would be so easy." He replied, softly.
He turned his head, lips brushing over my neck. My body broke out in goosebumps.
"Xavier." I let out a breathy moan.
"Fuck. Don't do that, baby."
I let out another one just to tease him.
"Apple, I mean it." He grunted.
He kissed my neck again and I snaked my arm over his shoulders.
"Xavier. We have to go." I mumbled.
"Alright, babe. Let's go." He moved his head away, grabbing my hand leading me towards the building.
Time for my last first day of high school.
