"Oh, thank god you're here, I could stand another second with this one." Missy complained jutting her thumb at Ash. They were all standing around what I assumed to be Missy's locker.

"Come on, butterfly. You know I was just messing with you." Ash complained reaching out to her. Missy smacked his hand and grabbed mine.

"You've had enough time with her, my turn." She pointed at Xavier.

"Yes ma'am." He laughed. "What did you do?" He asked Ash.

"Hey guys." Jess walked over waving. We all waved and said various hellos.

"Shut up, man. I don't wanna talk about it." Ash pouted, eyes never leaving Missy.

"Wait where is Jacob?" I asked, looking around. I hope nothing too bad happened to him.

"Why do you wanna know where he is?" Xavier responded, his face setting into hard stone.

"You didn't do anything too bad to him, right?"

"Maybe."

"Maybe? What does maybe mean?"

"We just... got into a small fight."

"Nice."

"Wait, really?"

"No not really, you idiot." I responded.

The double doors opened, and Jacob walked through, a nasty black eye and a split lip. I ran over to him.

"Oh Jacob, if I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn't have done anything." I brushed my hand over his hair, pushing it out of his eyes. I never liked watching my friends get beat up and hurt, even when we had to train for the gang.

"It's okay. Definitely worth it." He laughed.

"What's going on?" Xavier asked, stepping in between us. Xavier was about 6'3" while Jacob stood at 6'.

"It doesn't matter. Go away." I tried to push Xavier out of the way, but he wouldn't budge. There were a couple tricks I could use on him to push him away, but I couldn't be too obvious.

"Jacob, I don't know how much clearer I can be, but Anna is mine. Back the fuck up and understand you will never be more than her friend. Apple, lets go." He took my hand, dragging me down the hall.

"I'm allowed to have guy friends." I yanked my hand back, stopping in the middle of the hallway.

"I know, but what you did last night was so much more than being friends." He huffed, crossing his arms.

Interesting. So, he still didn't know that we didn't kiss. I thought he got it when we talked about it in the car, but I guess not.

"It doesn't matter what we did. It's my choice."

"Your choice is me, or nobody at all. I've made it very clear. I know I have. You are mine. Do you understand?"

"Fine."

"Good."

I never like over-protective guys, but there was something about Xavier that made me not care. The way his confidence commanded the presence of everyone. The way he stood in all his glory, and if we were being real, he is 100% the hottest guy I have ever seen.

He grabbed my hand again and started walking when we were stopped very quickly again by none other than Missy.

"Excuse me. I believe I said it way MY turn to talk to Anna, so hand her over, and nothing bad will happen." Missy spat angrily at X.

Missy was normally a very sweet girl, so when she looked like she, she was terrifying.

"Oh yeah? And what are you gonna do if I don't." He asked, stepping closer to her.

"Listen here, asshole. I'm all about the long game, and once I set my heart on something, I get it. So trust me when I tell you that if you don't hand her over right now, I will personally see to it that scientist recreate the whole reproduction system so the men have to carry the babies. By the time you are ready to give birth, it will be coming out of your manhood. Does that sound like something you want to happen to you?" She threatened.

Xavier shivered, afraid of her words. All though it was an outlandish remark, he seemed scared none the less.

"O-okay. Is it okay if I sit next to her at lunch?" He cowered. It was a funny scene.

"Maybe." She grabbed my hand.

"Bye Apple." He spoke quietly.

"Bye Xavier." I responded, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Missy grabbed my hand and pulled me away.

"You okay girl?" I asked as we walked side by side.

"Ash is pissing me off."

"Uh-oh. Trouble in paradise?"

"That exactly the problem. There is no paradise to be in trouble." She pouted.

"What do you mean? Aren't you together?" I asked as we walked aimlessly.

"Yes. No. It's complicated." She looked down, fiddling with her fingers.

"Explain."

"He likes to go around and tell everyone I'm his girlfriend, and he treats me like his girlfriend, but he's never asked me to be his girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, I really want to date him, but I need him to understand that its not something to just joke about. I just want him to ask me to be his girlfriend, not just assume." She spoke softly, her eyes still trained on her hands.

"I'll take care of it." I said.

"What do you mean?" She asked, meeting my eyes.

"Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it." I grabbed her hand, lacing it with mine.

"Whose class do you have first?" She asked.

"Umm, English with Mr. Francis."

"Oh great, me too. This way." We turned left and walked to our first class of the day.
