Chapter 13

"Anna!" Missy squealed, pulling me in to a tight embrace.

"Hi, Missy." I hugged back.

"What's up, bro?" Ash and Xavier did a bro hug, clapping each other on the back.

"Hey guys!" Jess came walking up the steps, and Missy pounced on her.

"Hey, Jess." I smiled.

"Woah, woah, woah, don't let the party star without me!" Jacob yelled which resulted in laughter.

"Hi, Jacob." I hugged him.

"Hey, Anna." He responded, clapping my back.

We pulled away and I greeted Ash and Jess.

"I brought chips and marshmallows!" Jacob held up his bags.

"Ooh! We can make smores later!" I smiled

"Yes!" Missy jumped up and down with joy.

"You're so cute, babe." Ash smiled, pulled her close, and kissed her head.

"Whatever." She tried to hide her smile, but failed.

We all sat around the firepit as Xavier got the flames going.

"Nice place." Jacob dropped next to me, his arm draping over my shoulders.

"Thanks, J."

Xavier walked over and knocked Jacobs arm off, and replaced it with his own.

"Hey, Ash. How about we go get those marshmallows? You can go inside my room, I'll be there I a minute." I smiled.

"Okay."

"I'll be back." I say, standing.

"I could go with you, Apple." Xavier said, standing with me.

"No, it's fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I have to talk to Ash for a sec."

"Okay." He smiled, kissing my forehead.

I started to walk away when I felt a hand pull me back into a hard chest. Xavier was holding me in a tight hug, and placed another kiss on the top of my head.

"I'll be back in a minute." I whispered.

"I know."

"Okay. Give me one moment, and I'll be back."

He kissed my head, and sat back down as I walked into my room.

"This way. Follow me."

We walked silently into the kitchen.

"What's happening?"

I grabbed his ear pulling his head down towards my face, whispering in his ear.

"Now listen here you little twerp. You better ask Missy to be your girlfriend, and it better be romantic."

"Ow ow ow. Okay. You can let go now!"

I let go, and grabbed a box of graham crackers and chocolate bars.

"I'm kinda confused though. Isn't she already my girlfriend?" He starched his head, confused.

"Have you asked her?"

"No, I just figured that we were already a couple." Ash shrugged.

"That's the whole problem. Missy just wants you to ask." I responded.

"Okay. I know exactly what to do." I nodded.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Yeah, lets go." We walked back out to the porch.

"Who's ready for smores?!" I shouted with a smile on my face.

"Me!" Jacob jumped up, grabbed the food from my hands, and started roasting his marshmallows. I laughed and walked over to Xavier, cuddling into his side.

Xavier smiled and wrapped his arm around mine, rubbing my arms up and down.

"Cold?" He whispered to me, smiling.

I looked up.

"A little."

He pulled away smiling, and took off his hoodie, handing it to me.

"Here."

"I don't want you to be cold." I spoke worriedly.

"Don't worry. I'm sitting next to the hottest girl in the world." I sat up, smiling at him. I kissed his cheek.

"You're so sweet." I smiled.

"Only for you. Now, come here." He pulled me close so I was sitting on his lap, my legs propped up on either side.

"Are we good?" A serious look on his face.

"Yeah, why?" I placed my hands on both sides of his face, rubbing my thumbs across his temples.

"I just felt bad. We have moved pretty quickly and I didn't want you to feel pressured about anything." He pushed some hair out of my face.

"Don't worry about it." I smiled.

"I was more than willing to participate." I laughed. "As long as we slow down a little, it'll be okay."

He brought my head down, and kissed my forehead.

"I am more than willing to slow down. I'd do anything to be with you." Xavier whispered on my forehead.

"Thank you." I smiled.

I climbed off his lap, and slid under his arm, and cuddled into his side with a smile on my face.

Ash and Jacob were telling a story about a bad double date they went on before Ash met Missy.

*buzz buzz*

Missy: What happened with Ash?

I smiled and looked up at her.

Answer! She mouthed.

Anna: I told you I'd take care of it ;)

Missy: What did you do :0

Anna: Relax. You'll figure out soon enough :)

Missy: You're the best :)

I smiled and placed my phone back in my pocket.

"You okay?" Xavier whispered into my hair.

"Yeah." I whispered back with a smile.

"Okay." He rubbed my arms.

I was worried that I wouldn't feel a huge amount of joy again after leaving my family behind.  But here I was, filled with happiness. There was nowhere else I would rather be.
