The Deal & a Bucketlist

Chapter 8

Riley’s Point of view.

I tell my brother, Brandon and I have to leave we give back the cute newborn twins.
“So what should we do know?” Brandon asks,
“Who said I wanted to hang out with you. I’m joking. I think we should paint my room and maybe at the end have a paint fight.” I say hinting to my bucket list.
“Aw I thought you really meant that, but I’m up for a paint fight” He pouts.
“To the Paint shop!” I say rather loudly I get a few weird looks but I just shrug it off. We walk to the car. I turned on the radio and started driving.
“It has been rumoured that Riley Jenner a 17 year old from Florida has been signed a record deal with universal music and in other news…” the radio host said then my favourite song came on. As we arrived at the warehouse my phone started ringing. Brandon answered it for me.
“Here you go I don’t know who it is” he passes the phone.
“Hello this is Riley”
“Hey riley Its Katy I heard you got a record deal I always told you your amazing”
“Don’t Bullsh*t me you hated my type of music and now all of a sudden you like me screw you” I say and hang up.
“Wow I guess that was your ex friend Katy she’s a piece of work she even tried flirting with me but I told her you were my girlfriend I hope you don’t mind” I nod.
“Oh that’s fine all she wants now is fame” I say. We walk into the paint store and choose two colours Mint green and grey we also get painting tape and plastic sheets. We drive home and we cover up all my furniture with plastic in my room we move the bed away from the wall so we can paint there. I get two rollers and hand one to Brandon we start painting the wall mint green. As we’re painting I decide to put a little on Brandon’s back he get me back but on my Sweatpants instead we keep going on until we finished the whole wall.
“Let’s watch American Horror Story while we wait my brother has the box set.” We go down to the lounge room and I notice a note on the bench.
‘Hi Me and Hanna have taken the kids to the aquarium and we will have them back by six. – Becca’.
That’s Where they are, we start watching American horror story by about the fourth episode I’m pretty sure the paint is dry we did buy the quick drying tins. We rush up the stairs and I grab tape.
“Brandon can I go on your shoulders so I can reach” He nods and picks me up. I start to apply the tape in a chevron pattern when I am done we start to paint over the tape.
“Okay it’s time for a paint fight but let’s bring it outside I quickly have to get a few more tins from the garage” He nods and we go our separate ways he is carrying the left over paint while I go get other paints, once I get to the garage I can spot four tins blue, purple, yellow and pink. I rush to the backyard.
“ok we get three tins each Once we get all our tins open we can start” I quickly grab the pink, mint green and yellow  tins and open them as fast as I can I then grab my two brush and start flicking paint at Brandon.
“I really think Pink is your colour I say as I splatter it in his hair. He throws Paint back this goes for another half hour.
“I think we should get cleaned up now I’m going to get the hose” I run to the deck and grab the hose I start spray to spray Brandon and myself feeling the paint slowly making its way out of my hair. I turn off the hose and look up to Brandon his eyes are looking down to mine, small drips of water are Falling on to my forehead I see him glance at my lips, he leans in and kisses me I kiss back.
“Aww Riley and Brandon sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G” the moment was completely ruined and I turned around to see the culprits it was Becca and Hanna standing with my younger siblings.
“Uh I got to go now Riley um... Call me” Is all he said and kissed me on the cheek he then ran off. Becca and Hanna apologised and went home I made the twins go straight to their rooms after dinner I wasn’t in the mood for their games, I showered properly and went to bed tat whole time all I could think of was that kiss what if he regrets kissing me.
“Riley we are home from the hospital get up” I hear Matt call, I get out of bed and stare at the clock eight am who even wants to get up at this ungodly hour. I yawn and go down the stairs anyway I see that matt must have gone to put Ivy and Louis to bed, I see Penny sitting at the kitchen table.
“Hey can I talk to you it’s about Brandon” I ask
“Sure Sweetie what is it”
“Well yesterday we kissed and my other friends saw it and Brandon just left I have a feeling he regrets that kiss” I say with a frown.
“Honey he likes you he couldn’t regret that kiss if he tried I see the way he looks at you it’s how I look at your brother Matt of course” I nod. We then talk about girly stuff.
Monday

Today is Monday which is the day of my meeting with Tanya. I put on a simple dress and flats; I grab my handbag where I put my song list, phone, purse and most important gum. I rush down stairs grab an apple and head to my car. When I reach the big Universal building I only have ten minutes to spare I quickly head to reception.
“Hello what’s your name and reason for being here?” the lady asks in monotone.
“Uh Riley Jenner and a meeting with Tanya”
“You may take a seat” I sit down and see Demi Lovato sitting next to me.
“Hey I love your hair, I’m Demi by the way if you don’t mind me asking why are you here at Universal Music” she says I am speechless.
“Thanks, Um I’m Riley Jenner and I’m here to discuss my record deal with Tanya Sway.” I answer.
“Riley Jenner, Tanya is ready to see you.” The receptionist says.
“I guess I have to go now bye” I say to Demi I see she slipped her number in my bag. I got up and walked over to Tanya’s office and went inside I sat down.
“Hey Riley good to see you again. Have you made the list?” Tanya asks.
“Yes I also wrote the lyrics of my songs down” I hand her the pages of writing.
“Wow you wrote these Songs they are incredible But down to business I talked to my managing team and we found you a manager She has worked with many artists Rina Hallie (I made that up) I have to go now Your new manager will explain everything” As Tanya walks out Rina walks in.
“ok hello I will be your manager Rina and I will have to start recording as soon as possible because I would like to get it out just before Christmas, I would Also like to add you will have to do your schooling online so you can do it whenever you find time Sounds Good?” She explains.
“Yep”
“ Now I have organised you to record one of your original songs tomorrow so we can release a single and you may or may not have a photo shoot afterwards” she says.
“Ok”
“I have another meeting now bye I will text you the details” she says.
Wow well that happened fast I think tomorrow is going to be a very long day which I am sort of is but not looking forward to, Well todays been eventful I got Demi Lovato’s  number and I am now going to record my own original song tomorrow Wow.
