The prophecy has clearly stated that only the one born on July 31st could defeat the dark lord.
So why were there three kids all born on the same day?
Two twins, Harry and y/n Potter and a boy named Neville Longbottom.
Of course when the dark lord killed Lily and James and then was killed by one of the twins, that would've answered the question right?
Wrong. They didn't know which kid had been the one to defeat him, they had the same scar and the same looks.
They were twins after all.
So the story was spread that the spell had hit both the twins and they, together, had deflected it. That they, together, had defeated the dark lord.
Unfortunately for the twins, they were sent to live with the Dursley family.
Who were all asses.
The twins were stuck with a Muggle family who hated them, when they were famous in the Wizarding world.
But they didn't know that yet.
