IT'S EMPTY IN THE valley of your heart The sun, it rises slowly as you walk Away from all the fears And all the faults you've left behind. ~Mumford & Sons. ————————— —————————-
𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐇'𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕 JUNE 16TH, 2019
TODAY WAS SUPPOSED to be a good day. It was not. Because today I locked myself out of my car. And house. In the rain. All by myself. I tugged helplessly at the drivers side door, as if it was magically going to unlock itself. But it definitely did not. Not to mention my phone in the cup holder and keys still in the ignition, that didn't move either. All I had was a completely drenched outfit and a single five dollar bill in my pocket.
The thought of jogging over to Heyward's Seafood and asking someone for help crossed my mind, but i didn't want to be a burden. It's not anyone else's fault I'm a total idiot. I let out a loud groan, before banging my head against the metal side of my vehicle. Twice. I finally excepted what fate had in store. Today was doomed.
"Dude, you good?"
Okay. Maybe not so doomed.
I turned around just to come face to face with a particular blond I knew had been watching me since I came into town. We'd still yet to speak. I didn't even know his name. But I definitely thought about him quite frequently.
He pulled his hoodie off and held it over his head to try and shield some of the rain as he ran out of the old beat up van he'd been driving. "What are you doing?" He yelled over the booming thunder that had begun only a few minutes prior. "Oh you know, just working on my tan." I joked, as he grabbed my wrist and dragged me into the back of his van. Okay I know how that sounds, but he truly didn't seem all that dangerous.
He laughed for a moment, before speaking up again. "No really, you all right?"
"I locked my keys in my car." My response was blunt. But the blond only laughed in response. "Why didn't you just call someone?" He asked, but I just shook my head. "Phones in the cup holder...."
"Ahhh, that'll do it. Well c'mon, I'll give you a hand." He smiled, grabbing a crowbar from the very back of the van, and jumping back into the harsh weather. I'm not even gonna bother asking why that's in here. (Okay idk how tf to get into a car like this bc I've never locked my keys in mine while driving before so just bare with me.)
The water made things 10x more difficult, but a few slips later we were finally back in my car. My body totally drenched the seat almost the moment I sat down. "Hey, thank you. Truly." I smiled over at the boy who's hair was sticking up all over the place, as he sent me a big smile right back. "Don't mention it."
