IT HAD BEEN EXACTLY one week since JJ Maybank and Briellah Fleur had told each other the ways of their pasts. It wasn't till the next day she had heard the talk of John B's father; who had disappeared at sea a few months ago. She always did wonder why he lived alone. And now he was constantly on the run from DCS? It broke her heart. That poor boy.

Briellah was walking home from work when the hurricane siren began to blare. It had to of been one of the loudest things she'd ever heard, flinching when it first when off. She opted for a walk to work today rather than driving as she usually did. Her anxiety had been acting up and she wanted to clear her head, but she instantly began to regret it once the pouring rain started. Sure, she loved the rain. But not when it was coming down this hard and she had bags of clothes in hand.

Luckily, she'd been walking past John B's just then. She ran up the porch and walked in without knocking, just wanting out of the harsh weather for a moment. Right when she looked up, she came face to face with JB himself. "Hey, you okay?" She asked. He seemed flustered. In a rush. "JJ's AWOL. Cant find him anywhere and he hasn't picked up since yesterday afternoon. I gotta find him before the storm hits. I was gonna check his house but I also gotta grab my shit from work and it's comin' in fast so I don't know what to d-"

She cut him off. "Woah woah, Slow down. Hey don't freak out, okay? It's gonna be totally fine. Give me Jay's address and I'll go grab him for you. You go get your stuff from work, alright?" She offered, allowing the panicked boy to take a much needed deep breath. He was unsure at first, but she let him know that JJ had told her. About his dad. So, he gave her the address and dropped her at her car.

Pulling into JJ's driveway was no less than expected. Empty beer cans and spare tires scattered all over the ground. She made sure to drive by once and look for a car, being sure his father wasn't here before turning around and pulling in.

She rushed up the front steps only to be met with a blond, through the screen door. He had a hat on. A dark green and a brown fisherman's logo on it. It was torn and beaten up. But his face, wasn't much different.

He had a bag slung over his shoulder and a zip-lock full of weed in hand. His lip was busted open and there was a dark bruise on his left cheekbone, with a huge cut going through it. His eyes red and puffy. He'd been crying.
