JUNE 17TH, 2019

IT WAS SUPPOSED TO STORM THAT night. Not a harsh storm. Not another island hurricane, just a simple thunder storm. JJ had planned on hunkering down at John B's while Kiara and pope would be home with their parents. Of course, Briellah had less options. Staying home with her brother was it for her.

Briellah was far from excited for what Mother Nature had in store. She hated storms. They frightened her. But the rain? That was something she was practically jumping up and down for. That solid three to four hours of nothing but rain that would come pouring down before the storm hits. She couldn't wait till nightfall.

The clock read 8:21am. Briellah had woken up early to workout and shower before she headed to the surf shop. She decided to go with a basic fit today. She went with some black jeans; a red hoodie and an oversized black jean jacket over top. She cuffed the bottom of her bootcut jeans and threw on some dirty white high-top converse.

She threw on a few silver rings, and grabbed her car keys. As she locked her door behind her; she remembered about her note. Quickly checking under the lantern, she furrowed her brows.

Gone.

She chewed off parts of her white nail polish as she walked over to her car; jumping in and driving a little ways away. It was fairly simple. More so than she'd anticipated. The man that owned the shop was sweet. He pretty much gave her the job on the spot; much to her surprise. Guess things are different in small towns. Or islands, I suppose.

She started in a week. So by the time she was walking out of the shop; her phone buzzed. Not even considering it could be anyone other than her brother; she mindlessly pulls it from her back pocket.

What about the storm?

'What is this boy up to?'

The girl quickly exited her Imessage app and opened up Google Maps. Typing in the address, she furrowed her brows. It had seemed to be in the middle of no where. She zoomed in as close as it would let her, only to see a tiny little beach on the fairest end of The Cut. There was clearly a small building set in the sand; probably abandoned. A 23 minute drive from her current location.
