One morning he said to me,

One morning he said to me,

Teary eyed he assured me,

"My love will always be true,

In my rainbow, you are my brightest hue..."

Teary eyed I cup his cheeks,

That day our love is at our peaks.

Holding hands we trek the fields,

Slowly and gently a future we build,

Laughing and enjoying,

That moment was so daring.

Step by step we do and can't help,

To plan dreams to be kept.

Watching the sun setting,

He rises up and start his usual saying,

Of goodbyes and all his thank you's,

All I have said was "I love you too."

Promised he'll be back,

Also promising to him,

Without him, I'll forever lack.

A loud thunders banged and threatens,

No, we will not be shaken.

He left me with a smile,

Watch him disappear in miles.

Looking to the window before I sleep,

Can't help but notice my heart that keeps,

Warning me, caressing me,

Wrestling with something inside me.

Another lightning jolted in front of me,

Eyes in shock, I  cannot see.

In fear, closing my eyes, remembering he loves me,

Imagining the waves of the sea.

I am calm,

I am strong,

I am loved,

He loves me and my wrongs

Tired and heavy, I wake up,

A smile displayed but mind says "stop".

Opening the windows I saw,

A mixture of grays and yellows.

Shivering in gray, I hid below,

Courage and love takes me up to face,

The new morning to brace,

A day with yellow and gray.

My mind falters but my heart wants to stay,

With someone I want to forever love,

With him whom miraculously was from above...
