Anthony POV

Crown Aplha King. . . .

. . . . of Lycans?

Take up the throne.

Woah. Is this a joke?

It seems like the more I try to run away from the whole 'royal' thing, the more I get tangled into it.

Lycans are ancient creatures. They're powerful. Strong. And I'm absolutely sure that all of them have more knowledge than me on how to use their own powers. How am I even fit to be their king?

Kaitlyn said that she used to rule them before me. So, does that mean she's a Lycan too?

"You're a Lycan?" I ask Kate and she nods vigorously in reply.

"Wait a second," Carla looks at me then at Kate, "Kate, you said you and Anthony are twins. Does that mean you are a hybrid like Anthony and are part demonic witch too?"

"Uh, no. Actually, we aren't the first twins in the family. The Verakov family descends from a long list of twins. My grandparents, my parents, me and then my kids. We all had/have a twin. But the thing is, the demon genes passes on only to the elder twin. And the first child in the generation. My father was the eldest in his generation. Anthony is the eldest in our generation. And Noah is the eldest in the next generation. The list goes on based on the first born who eventually gets the demon genes thus turning into a lycan/ demonic witch hybrid and takes up the throne." Kate explained all that in one breath.

"Wow. I'm impressed you could explain it, Kate." Marilla comments sarcastically.

"I'm shocked myself, Mari. Did I make sense though?" She asks gazing at me and Carla and we nod in accordance.

"So, is Valerian a Lycan too?" I quip in suddenly curious about the man.

It's just that for some reason, he exuded a very powerful aura and I couldn't quite pinpoint why.

"Uh, about Val. . .I'm sorry, bro, but I can't tell you about him or what he is," Kate retorted giving us an apologetic look.

"Yeah, sincerely sorry Alpha. All you need to know is he's the king of all ancients and the ruler of whole of Ancientriova. It's his kingdom." Marilla quipped in with a determined face.

So, he's the ultimate king of Ancients just like how Melissa is the ultimate Queen of all supernatural creatures (ancients included since they're supernaturals too). Interesting.

"Okay now, enough boring talks. It's time for lunch. Come on downstairs," Kate waved her hand, shifting the topic.

"Yeah sure. But one last thing," I gave a queasy smile to my plausible sister as the question popped in my head, "Why don't we look alike? I mean, you said we're twins."

I saw Kate and Marilla exchange looks before they both broke into a very wide grin, "No one in the family ever had much resemblance despite being twins. Noah and Nora are the only ones who have the highest identical features, excluding their hair colour. The rest of us aren't identical. But there's a way to know about us being twins. You know when Nora met Noah when you came here and their eyes shone golden just like how yours and mine did?" She asked and nodded in reply, "So, if a twin wants to see the other twin very badly then their eyes shine golden once they meet. I guess that's all."

My mouth formed into an 'o' while Kate smiled at me and asked Carla and I to join for lunch before she left with Marilla.

"Well, that was one hell of a memory lane fiasco," I heard Carla's giggle bringing a warm feeling in my chest as I turned to her with a grin.
